City councils in Texas each have specific responsibilities unique to their city. Duties of a city council generally include setting the tax rate, approving a budget, adopting local ordinances, and managing land transactions. City councils plan and oversee public services and facilities: police and fire protection; health and sanitation services; animal control; street construction and maintenance; garbage collection and disposal; transportation systems; recreational facilities; parking; airports; jails; parks and zoos; libraries and museums; hospitals and emergency services; building codes/zoning; and water and sewage service. City council members may also elect other municipal officers or appoint citizens to serve on boards and commissions.

Business Owner, District Director at City Hall (7yrs), Community Volunteer (20 plus years)
Having served as a community advocate for years, a small business background and as a former District Director within City Hall, I possess a unique perspective. I know how to navigate the complexities of city government, and more importantly, I know how to bridge the gap between our residents and the representation they deserve. I am running for office to ensure that the community’s voice isn't just heard at City Hall, it’s acted upon.
Communication is a vital part of representation. As such, I believe in resident opportunities to engage with their elected official on matters that mean most to them. My office would be readily available to answer questions, and engage through district newsletters, town hall meetings and open dialogue with neighborhood leaders; especially with zoning cases or developments coming to their neighborhoods. This would be done in a timely manner so thoughtful dialogue and discussion can take place.
In order to maintain federal funding, Fort Worth City Council voted to transition away from DEI programming in 2025. Moving forward, my priority is to establish a framework rooted in the 14th Amendment to ensure our policies remain legally consistent while upholding a strict zero tolerance policy for discrimination.
Since 2017, our Tarrant County Sheriff department has been partnering with ICE to report and address any illegal immigrants detained. This partnership has been effective without overreach. I am more than comfortable with this level of engagement.
Infrastructure deficits burden our residents daily. I would plan for Right of Way acquisitions, which are the backbone of expanding our roadways. Smart Growth allows for a development supporting the work, play, live mentality. I would make development that pursues more economic dollars with less infrastructure impacts as a priority. Fiscal Responsibility As a city we are currently in a shortfall with our 2026 budget. A priority would be to drastically reduce our council travel budget.
