Trustees are elected to specific positions but represent their entire independent school district and have the following responsibilities mandated by State and Federal laws: select and employ the superintendent, manage public schools, establish operating policies, monitor expenses, adopt and approve a budget, and adopt employment policies. Additionally, they have the authority to set tax rates, levy and collect taxes, buy and sell property, exercise eminent domain, accept donations, charge fees, and call bond elections. Trustees elect their own officers: President or Chair, (Vice president or vice chair), Secretary and Treasurer.

Quality Assurance Consultant
Michael’s education includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Toxicology from St. Joseph’s University, formerly The Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science, and a Master of Science degree in Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs from Temple University.
As Michael approaches retirement in 2026 from a 35-year career in pharmaceutical development, he sees no better way to dedicate his time than continuing to serve Crowley ISD. His professional background in quality assurance and continuous improvement has equipped him with a thoughtful, system-driven approach to guiding the processes that support students, families, and educators. He brings experience in strengthening systems, leading data driven decision making, and improving transparency.
I believe ICE and Border Patrol agents should not be present on school campuses. Schools must be places where every student and family feels safe, supported, and focused on learning.
Our board already provides opportunities for public input during meetings, and that’s an important part of our process. I would build on our existing public comment process by communicating this opportunity more clearly and consistently, so families know when and how they can participate. When people understand the process, they’re far more likely to engage.
I support policies and procedures that ensure concerns about books and instructional materials are handled through a clear, consistent, and educationally sound process. Our goal should be to protect students’ access to high quality, age-appropriate learning materials while respecting the rights of parents to raise concerns.
Two key challenges for our district are raising student achievement and strengthening partnerships with parents. I will support clear academic goals, consistent instructional practices, and data driven interventions that help every student grow. I will also prioritize communication and transparency so families understand what’s happening in our schools and how they can be part of the process. When schools and families work together, students thrive.

Nonprofit Executive
I am a former Crowley ISD School Board Trustee with experience in governance and budget oversight. I hold a Master’s in Educational Leadership and a B.S. in Business Management. I serve as Vice President of Workforce and Career Development at UpSpire, managing a $9M budget and 250+ staff, and have also served as a School Administrator and Adjunct Professor.
I bring experience as a former school board trustee, along with leadership in workforce development and community engagement through UpSpire. I have overseen budgets, supported educators, and helped guide district decisions. My work connects education, workforce readiness, and community impact, with a focus on accountability, strong schools, and student success.
I do not support the presence of ICE or Border Patrol agents on school campuses. Schools should be safe, welcoming environments where all students can focus on learning without fear or intimidation. The role of our schools is to educate and support children, not to serve as extensions of law enforcement. Any policy or practice that disrupts a student’s sense of safety ultimately undermines their ability to succeed academically and thrive.
I believe strong schools require intentional community collaboration. As a former Crowley ISD Trustee, I made public comment more accessible early in my term by ensuring an easy sign-up process. That effort was rooted in my belief that every voice should have a clear and fair opportunity to be heard.
I will continue prioritizing clear communication, timely meeting notices, and multiple ways for families to engage, ensuring transparency and meaningful public input in board decisions.
I support transparent, locally controlled processes ensuring parents, educators, and community members have a meaningful voice in reviewing instructional materials. This includes clear procedures for submitting concerns, timely review by locally appointed committees, and district decisions aligned with state standards, age appropriateness, and educational value. I prioritize community collaboration so concerns are addressed respectfully while keeping local voices at the center of decision making
The most pressing issue in Crowley ISD is student achievement and ensuring all students reach grade-level proficiency and long-term success. I will address this through targeted instruction, data-driven interventions, and expanded academic supports. Staff support is also critical: retaining educators, providing strong professional development, and ensuring classroom resources. I will also prioritize community collaboration to align families, schools, and stakeholders around shared expectations.
