As your next Mayor of Arlington. I an running to ensure whatever is necessary is done to this make community better for future generations to come. Due to my qualifications as a Health Law Librarian. I feel that my experience would help guide this city by navigating through it's complex regulations, ensuring transparency, and providing equitable access to information, which are critical components for local government leadership this makes me exceptionally qualified to be an effective mayor.
I would advocate for the abolishment of pre-registration requirements and the restrictive time limits.
"Public comment is not a nuisance to be managed; it is the soul of the meeting. Reducing a citizen's grievances to 3 minutes is an insult to the democratic process."
Currently the Trump Administration and the state of Texas has put a total ban on DEI Programs. I have historically opposed attempts by state and federal lawmakers to get rid of these DEI programs. But because the ban does exist. I will do everything in my power to ensure the full enforcement of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. I will make sure nobody even lawmakers tries abolish this provision. We must combat discrimination even if racism is encouraged by the state and federal government.
I will say that the 287(g) program "unjustly turns local law enforcement officials into immigration officers." I will advocate for a total "decoupling" of federal immigration enforcement from routine local policing to ensure that local officers focus on community safety rather than federal civil matters. Currently the Arlington City Council voted not to aid federal immigration official's. As it is a federal reasonability not delegated to local city governments such as the City of Arlington.
Transportation and Mobility: With the 2026 World Cup arriving at AT&T Stadium, the city's lack of a comprehensive mass transit system is a central concern. Modernizing the "Via" on-demand service and managing traffic congestion are top priorities. I would transition away from the current "Via" rideshare model toward a traditional, fixed-route public bus system.

I have a BA in Criminal Justice and a JD in Jurisprudence. I have served as Mayor for 5 years and hold leadership positions in the US Conference of Mayors and numerous regional boards, committees and commissions.
During the last 5 years in office, I have been successful in increase the number of jobs in Arlington by nearly 30,000, increasing the average wage by over 20%, brought 13 new headquarters to the city and decreased crime every year I've been in office. Last year alone our crime went down 12%. Arlington is now on the world stage like never before. We have the Grand Prix of Arlington, Lone Star Smoke Off, the World Cup and so much more.
Unlike other authoritarian type governments in surrounding entities, we in Arlington, treat everyone speaking with dignity and respect. I even allow those who may not have signed up to speak an opportunity to speak. Exercising one's first amendment rights is essential.
First, the City of Arlington, over the last several months has spent tremendous time reviewing and addressing recent federal guidelines concerning DEI. While certain policies changes have unfortunately been necessary, the spirit of Arlington's inclusive comment remains strong. Unfortunately, I did not have the votes to get the reinstatement of the antidiscrimination ordinance buy worked hard at getting a compromise.
A 287(g) agreement with ICE is NOT something I have or will support. That is a civil process, and our police are for criminal investigation and enforcement only. Our police have and will support federal agencies in their execution of criminal investigations, but they will not participate in civil matters such as immigration.
The most critical issues in most cities is adequate and affordable housing. One way we have addressed this is to ensure we are bringing better paying jobs so people can more easily afford a home. Some people feel there should be no more multi-family developments, but I am not one of them. Multi-family is necessary in certain areas because a large number of people still cannot afford a house. We also must explore alternative housing like modular homes or cottage homes.

After decades in Arlington, Ann and I don’t just live here. We believe in it and care about its future. Rising taxes are straining families and small businesses. I’ve built a business here and understand both job creation and financial pressure. Arlington needs energetic, fiscally responsible leadership that puts residents first.
I would prioritize transparency by publishing agendas, supporting documents, and data well in advance of meetings. I’d expand public comment opportunities with flexible speaking options, including virtual access. Meetings should be livestreamed and archived, with clear summaries afterward. I’d also hold regular town halls and actively seek community feedback to ensure residents feel heard and informed.
I will stand firmly for policies that protect every resident from discrimination while ensuring full compliance with federal law. We can uphold fairness, equal access, and respect for all without jeopardizing critical funding. That means clear guidelines, accountability, and consistent training so every decision reflects both our values and our legal responsibilities, without exception or compromise.
Any cooperation with ICE under 287(g) should be transparent and focused on serious criminal activity. We must ensure local resources are used responsibly, protect due process, and build trust so all residents feel safe engaging with local government and law enforcement.
Protect Taxpayers. Restore financial responsibility, prevent further tax increases, and end deficit spending.
Improve Public Safety. Ensure first responders have the staffing, tools, and training needed to keep us safe.
Increase Ethics at City Hall. Promote transparency, accountability, and ethical standards.
Strengthen Neighborhoods. Refocus on fundamentals, including streets, infrastructure, and parks.
Grow Arlington’s Economy. Use a businessman’s focus to grow our economy and prosperity.

I am not looking to receive votes this election but instead to serve as a source of accountability of candidates for the voters and residents of Arlington.
