Education: I support investments, from early childhood through higher ed, raising educator pay, expanding student services, improving STEM and career pathways, and connecting schools to workforce needs. Healthcare: I will expand rural access, grow the workforce, fund mental health and addiction programs, expand Telehealth, and defend reproductive rights. Jobs/Small Businesses: Support job training, internships, and broadband for education, telehealth, and commerce. Infrastructure: Fund broadband and water, repair acequias, and invest in public safety. Environment: Invest in renewable energy, mitigate wildfire risk, restore land, and protect water. Affordability: Support working families, local businesses, and affordable rural housing.
To manage New Mexico’s water supply, I support investing in rural water and wastewater infrastructure, modernizing aging systems, and expanding emergency response capacity for communities facing shortages. Protecting and restoring watersheds is critical for clean water and post-fire recovery. We must promote groundwater management, conservation, and sustainable use, while supporting community driven solutions that reflect local needs in Torrance and San Miguel Counties. These strategies ensure safe, reliable water for families, agriculture, and future generations.
I would make state funding for local projects more transparent, equitable, and responsive to community needs. Funding decisions should prioritize rural and underserved areas, support critical infrastructure like water, broadband, and public safety, and include input from local governments, tribal nations, and community organizations. Streamlining application processes and ensuring timely disbursement of funds would prevent delays that hurt communities. By aligning state resources with local priorities, we can ensure projects are completed efficiently and benefit residents where they live.
The state should ensure that social media and AI are safe, transparent, and accountable. This includes protecting users from misinformation, harassment, and data misuse while promoting privacy and equity. Regulations should support ethical AI development and provide oversight without stifling innovation. The state should also invest in computer science and digital literacy education so all New Mexicans can navigate technology responsibly.
