Occupation Deputy County Assessor
Filing County Grant
I am a lifelong resident of this community, raised in Silver City with the values of service and hard work. My qualifications are rooted in over 45 years of experience within the Grant County Assessor’s office, where I served four terms as the elected Assessor and currently serve as Chief Deputy. This career has given me an unmatched understanding of our local government and the needs of our residents.

Beyond my professional life, I am a Navy veteran, a youth sports coach, and a long-time advocate for our local culture through my radio shows, Local Flavor and Serenata Mexicana. I have spent decades helping neighbors navigate complex systems, and I am ready to bring that dedication to the state legislature.
My approach is simple: I listen to my community and take those stories to Santa Fe. To address healthcare, I will fight for increased funding for rural clinics and Medicaid so no one in Grant County is forced to skip care due to rising costs.

For economic relief, I’ll leverage my 45 years in the Assessor’s office to take on big utilities, end price-gouging, and protect homeowners from being priced out of our community. Finally, protecting our people is personal to me. As a Navy veteran, I know our seniors and veterans deserve more than just thanks, they deserve tax relief and expanded mental health services. I will ensure those who served and built our community are always first in line for the support they need to live with dignity.
Water is our most precious resource. My priority is protecting our local supply from outside interests and ensuring that our water stays in our communities. We need to invest in modernizing our aging infrastructure to prevent waste and expand support for water conservation and recycling programs that help both residents and agricultural producers.

I will also focus conservation efforts on keeping the Gila wild and free in order to protect the heritage of Southwestern New Mexico for the generations to come.
Economic development must be a partnership that truly benefits our families. My first requirement is local results: Will this project create good-paying, union jobs for our neighbors, or will the profits leave the state? We must prioritize projects that hire locally and support our small businesses.

Second, we must ensure environmental protection. Any new project must prove it won't harm our water supply or the Gila River. Finally, we need accountability. If a company gets a tax break, they must fulfill their promises to our community, or the money should come back to the taxpayers. Development should help our people thrive, not just grow a corporate bottom line.
Access to quality healthcare should never depend on your zip code. In our district, where many families rely on Medicaid, we must prioritize stable funding for these essential services and work to lower the high costs of insurance premiums and prescription drugs. My goal is to reduce the financial barriers that prevent our neighbors from seeking care.

Equally important is addressing our provider shortage. I will support initiatives that recruit and retain doctors, nurses, and specialists in Southwestern New Mexico. We need to ensure that rural clinics are fully staffed so that residents aren’t forced to travel long distances for basic medical or dental needs.
