Occupation Small Business Owner
Filing County Bernalillo
I hold a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Education, along with certifications in Real Estate, Land Use Law, International Investments and Emerging Markets through Wharton, and Credit Union Management and Leadership. With more than 30 years of experience in urban planning and public service, I have built my career around thoughtful leadership and community-centered problem solving.

I have proudly served four years as a City Councilor, six years on the AMAFCA Board, and eight years on the Public Employees Retirement Board. I am also a graduate of Leadership Albuquerque.

As the District 17 incumbent and a small business owner, I understand both the challenges facing our community and the importance of practical,
My highest priorities are promoting bills that are solutions to reducing crime, attracting economic development/jobs and improving our educational systems. I’m committed to lower prices and affordability issues for New Mexicans. Just this past 2026 Legislative session, I proposed two pension bills to help New Mexico public retirees with soaring cost of living prices, which have increased exponentially. Retirees benefits are not keeping up with inflation costs. In addition, I proposed bills to help our seniors with food insecurity Statewide, and will continue to fight for both our the security of our pension benefits, and the stability of our families during a chaotic economic downturn. I will also fight for Social Security sustainability.
My background in urban planning positions me to help prioritize and advance sustainable, long-term water solutions for New Mexico. In an increasingly arid state, conservation must remain a top priority, supported by smart policy and responsible resource management. Future legislation should balance population growth, economic development, and the preservation of our limited water supply. By investing in conservation, infrastructure, and sustainable development practices, we can protect water quality, strengthen our communities, and ensure a reliable water future for generations to come.
Large companies are looking to locate in areas that have adequate water, good schools, offer tax incentives, and provide a healthy quality of life for workers. I believe Legislators should strive to provide all of the factors mentioned, and should be competitive, in today’s environment.
I was proud to Co-sponsor HB 99 Medical Malpractice Changes, signed by the Governor. This bill lowers cap for punitive damages, remains, while advancing long-term meaningful reform. HB 99 provides access to quality care in NM, creates a fair and predictable medical liability framework, while supporting patients, and allowing hospitals and physicians to continue providing care to their communities. Other bills I Co-sponsored included HB 32 Counseling Liscensure Compact HB 33 Psychology Inter-jurisdictional Compact, other compacts were seen as priorities, so these can be reintroduced in 2026.
