I received my NM Certified Appraiser Certification through the NM Association of Assessing Officers & the NM Property Tax Division. I have 15+ years of hands on experience across the valuation process. I’ve served as a field appraiser, Chief Appraiser, mapper, and now Chief Deputy Assessor—communicating with tax payers in regard to their valuation, supervising staff, reviewing valuations for accuracy, developing and maintaining parcel maps and ensuring fair, compliant service to taxpayers and agencies.
My top priorities are improving accuracy and efficiency through modern assessment tools, maintaining a well-trained staff, and supporting fair tax policies for Socorro County residents. I will implement updated technology for consistent, data-driven valuations and prioritize ongoing training through IAAO and NM Edge courses. I will also work with the New Mexico Assessor’s Affiliate, lawmakers, and the Property Tax Division to support transparent, responsible policies. My goal is to build on the office’s progress by strengthening technology, staff, and communication while continuing to provide accurate and equitable service.
The Assessor’s Office serves the public by being accountable; openly, honestly, and responsibly. Valuations must be accurate, consistent, and equitable. As guardian of fair tax distribution, the office must act with integrity, impartiality, and strict adherence to NM statutes and appraisal standards. Decisions must follow the law, with clear, timely responses to taxpayers. The process must remain free from bias, self-interest, and outside influence to ensure equal treatment under the law.
I will ensure all appraisers have the opportunity to become New Mexico Certified Appraisers through the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO). This includes completing four rigorous 30-hour courses and successfully passing each exam. They will also gain the required experience through hands on fieldwork, ensuring they are well-prepared and qualified in their roles.
