I am currently the Chief Deputy Assessor and I'm qualified for this position through a combination of formal training and hands-on experience. I have attended International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) schools and earned my NM Certified Appraiser Certificate, completed classes with the New Mexico Land and Title Association. I have also worked as an appraiser, giving me the knowledge and experience necessary to serve the community effectively. I have experience in property valuation, including residential, land and commercial appraisals. I'm proficient in Catalis and Triadic CAMA systems, sales ratio studies. I have 11 1/2 years direct experience in the Sierra County Assessors Office.
My top priority is to ensure every property in the county is assessed fairly and equitably, while accurately identifying and adding all new construction to the tax rolls.
I will make sure every property transfer is handled the right way—accurate, complete, and properly recorded—so property owners can have confidence in their records.
I will ensure fairness by applying the same standards to every property and regularly reviewing assessments for accuracy. I will promote transparency by clearly explaining how values are determined, providing easy access to property records, and maintaining an open -door policy so property owners can ask questions. I'm here to serve the public.
My front office staff takes classes through Linkedin and we have on the job training. They also get training from the companies of the software we use.
All of our Appraisers go to International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) and become NM Certified Appraisers. They also take continuing education classes to keep up their Certification through IAAO.
