I have over 20 years of experience in local government, including nearly a decade serving in the Santa Fe County Assessor’s Office. Currently, I serve as Chief Deputy Assessor, where I’ve gained extensive, hands-on knowledge of property valuation and the assessment process.
I am a New Mexico Certified Appraiser and serve as Chair of the New Mexico Counties Assessors Affiliate. I am also a member of the Professional Recruitment Task Force with the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO). In addition to my administrative and leadership roles, I teach courses within the New Mexico EDGE program, helping train and develop the next generation of assessors in New Mexico.
I want to serve as the next Santa Fe County Assessor because I understand what it takes to do the job effectively. I have a deep passion for this community and I am committed to ensuring the fair and equitable valuation of all property across Santa Fe County.
Through my experience, I’ve learned the importance of listening to the concerns of the public and responding with transparency and integrity. I am dedicated to applying New Mexico state statutes and industry best practices in a way that is both accurate and fair.
As someone born and raised in Santa Fe, I care deeply about this community and am committed to doing what’s right for the people.
I will ensure fairness and transparency by consistently applying, and overseeing the application of the accepted approaches to value. I am committed to continuing strong investment in staff development by providing ongoing training and educational opportunities so our team stays current with the latest appraisal techniques and standards.
Equally important, I will expand public outreach to help build trust in our valuation process. This includes educating taxpayers on New Mexico’s available benefits and exemptions, as well as clearly guiding them through the protest process so they feel informed, supported, and heard.
With my experience in the Assessor’s Office and involvement at the state and national level, I understand the importance of ongoing training. I will prioritize educational development through IAAO and the New Mexico EDGE program to keep staff current on appraisal methods, legal information and updates, and data analysis.
I will also ensure regular training on New Mexico statutes and legal updates so assessments are applied consistently. Administratively, I will focus on leadership, efficiency, and customer service. My goal is a professional team that delivers accurate valuations, and excellent customer service that earns public trust.
