I am the current DAC Assessor and have been serving in this role for three years, three months, two weeks, and one day. I am the most experienced, with a full understanding of what the job requires as I have already been doing the work with dedication and integrity. When I first ran four years ago, as a taxpayer before anything else, I wanted to ensure that all property taxes were valued fairly and equitably. Since then, our Assessor's office team has been working diligently and professionally to make sure that remains the case. We have been collaborating as a strong, committed team to regain the trust of our customers, demonstrating every day that we are here to serve, support, and assist our community with transparency and respect.
The Assessor’s Office is committed to fair and uniform valuations, accurate records, and clear communication that strengthens public trust. I bring proven experience and a strong understanding of the work required to serve our community effectively. Our dedicated team maintains reliable data, completes timely revaluations, administers exemptions responsibly, and responds openly to appeals. Through collaboration, transparency, innovation, and consistent service, we work every day to ensure accuracy, equity, confidence, and long‑term stability in the assessment process. We remain focused on continuous improvement, stronger outreach, and delivering dependable results that support every resident and reflect the growing needs of our county.
I will achieve these goals by continually collaborating and guiding a dedicated, knowledgeable team that applies consistent appraisal methods, maintains accurate property data, and completes timely revaluations grounded in reliable market information. I will strengthen public trust through clear communication, accessible education, and responsive service that supports every taxpayer. By improving technology, expanding a countywide reappraisal project, enhancing training, increasing outreach, and ensuring full compliance with state statutes, the office will deliver fair valuations, dependable records, transparent processes, stronger community confidence, and meaningful long-term improvements that benefit all residents.
By applying consistent appraisal standards, strengthening data accuracy, and completing timely reviews supported by reliable market information. I will guide a knowledgeable team that follows clear procedures, documents each step, and maintains open communication with every taxpayer. By improving technology, expanding a countywide reappraisal project, enhancing staff training, increasing public outreach, and ensuring full compliance with state statutes, the office will provide clear explanations, dependable records, equitable results, and a valuation process the community can trust.
I will continue to provide staff with training that builds technical skill, legal understanding, and administrative consistency across the valuation process. Staff will learn accurate appraisal methods, reliable data practices, and clear procedures for documenting property changes. They continue to gain knowledge of state statutes, taxpayer rights, and ethical standards to ensure compliance. Training will also focus on communication, outreach, and organized workflows. All staff will take IAAO courses and McKissock programs to strengthen Assessors Office expertise, and we will work with our county legal team when situations require attorney guidance.
