My highest priorities would be an intensive analysis of recent mishaps in the Assessors' office, which have created increased workloads for government employees and majorly inconvenienced the tax-paying public.

I will uncover the root causes of recent tax mistakes arising from the current administration, instituting measures to check for inconsistencies to reduce conflicts between the public and local government.

My professional experience has equipped me with the skills necessary to uncover lapses in employee support mechanisms. Once I assess the current opportunities, I will streamline processes for efficiency, accuracy, and transparency.

I have worked in the mortgage industry for over 33 years. I was a realtor for 6 years. I understand the importance of fair and equitable appraisals. I also served 2 terms as the Bernalillo County Clerk. I am very familiar with the process of government at the County level.

That all properties are treated with fair and equitable assessments that fall within state statutes. I want to keep Bernalillo County locally owned by working with property owners and being reasonable with minimum state requirements so property taxes don’t sky rockets. I want to keep people in their homes and businesses in a position to prosper.

Hire and train appraisers that are qualified to do the job.

Any and all that is available. Make sure all employees are current on education requirements.
