I currently serve as a Lincoln County Commissioner and bring both public and private sector experience to the role. Before serving on the Commission, I worked in local government leadership, including roles in planning, community development, and project management. I have a Bachelor of Business with an emphasis in Marketing from New Mexico State University and an MBA from LSU. As a lifelong local and Ruidoso High School volleyball State Champion, I understand our community, its challenges, and its priorities. I bring preparation, accountability, and a strong work ethic to every decision.
Lincoln County is facing several major challenges: disaster recovery, long term infrastructure needs, public safety demands, and maintaining financial stability while protecting taxpayers. Our communities are still working through the impacts of fires and flooding, and we need resilient roads, drainage, watershed protection, and reliable emergency response systems. We also need to support economic recovery, strengthen conditions for local businesses and families, and make sure county government stays focused on core services. In a rural county, every dollar matters, so responsible budgeting is critical.
I would continue focusing on practical, results driven leadership. That means pursuing outside funding aggressively, prioritizing infrastructure and public safety projects, improving long term disaster resilience, and making sure taxpayer dollars are used wisely. I believe county government should stay focused on the basics and do them well: maintain roads and essential services, support law enforcement and emergency response, and plan responsibly for the future. I also believe in transparency, accountability, and working collaboratively with local, state, and federal partners to deliver real outcomes for Lincoln County.
Citizens deserve to know what is coming before the County Commission and have a meaningful chance to weigh in before votes are taken. I support clear agendas, timely public notice, open meetings, workshops on major issues, and better use of the county website and public communication channels to share information in plain language. I also believe commissioners should be accessible, answer questions, and listen to public concerns early in the process, not after decisions are already moving forward.
Growth must be responsible and based on real water capacity, not wishful thinking. We need to protect water resources, support conservation, improve aging infrastructure, reduce water loss, and strengthen long term planning with local water providers and communities. I also believe watershed restoration, forest health, and flood recovery are part of water policy in Lincoln County because healthy watersheds support long term supply and resilience. We should welcome growth that is sustainable, but not growth that outpaces the resources our communities depend on.
