Q1. Please provide your age as of election day 2026, education, occupation and life experiences that would make you an effective County Attorney.

Q2. What do you perceive are proper and necessary priorities of the County Attorney and what changes would you implement if elected?

As your current Gallatin County Attorney, I bring proven leadership and real results. I am 44 years old and a graduate of Carleton College and the University of Montana School of Law, where I served as Editor-in-Chief of the Montana Law Review. With 17 years of experience as a prosecutor, public defender, and Judge Pro Tem, I understand the justice system from every angle. I founded Cromwell Law, named Gallatin’s Greatest Law Firm in 2021, and since 2023, I have led a team of over 40 in the County Attorney’s Office. I have turned the County Attorney’s Office into an accountable, effective, and results-driven organization focused on public safety and justice. I am committed to keeping our community safe and continuing this important work.
When I took office, I found a 15-year backlog of over 600 unprosecuted felonies, including more than 100 violent sexual assault cases. We cleared that backlog, and it will not happen again under my leadership. I launched the PIVOT program to divert low-risk offenders into treatment and created a 90-day Community Commitment program to connect people in crisis with mental health care. I modernized the County Attorney’s Office and secured a federal partnership to fast-track domestic violence cases involving firearms. Next, I will expand solutions at the intersection of mental health and the justice system and will launch a public data dashboard in winter 2026. Gallatin County cannot afford to go backward and I will keep us moving forward.

37 years old. Juris Doctorate University of Montana School of Law, Bachelor's Degree: Northern State University, Major: Sociology; Minor: Psychology, emphasis in Criminal Justice and Human Services Occupation: Private Attorney, Salo Law. I was born and raised in Gallatin County. I have over a decade of prosecutorial experience, including jury trials for deliberate homicide and violent/sexual offenses. This has given me a unique perspective to see serious concerns with public safety, as well as the adversarial treatment of law enforcement within Gallatin County. I believe the County Attorney's office can be restored to do the work that Gallatin County needs. This includes working with law enforcement and with victims upholding their rights.
My top priority is to ensure that the office regains the trust of law enforcement, victims, and the community. I am proud to have been endorsed by the Gallatin County Sheriff and the Bozeman Police Protective Association. I believe the office needs to focus on prosecution, not politics. When the office is used to take politics into the judicial system there should be immense concern. If elected, I won't use this position as a political steppingstone. I will instead focus on enforcing the rule of law and supporting the people I represent. Other priorities include increasing salaries for county attorney employees, creating more internal positions, and decrease the number of out-of-office contract attorney's that are currently being used.
