From gerrymandering to purging voter rolls, Ohio continues to make it harder to vote. As evidenced over the past several years, politicians in Columbus can’t be trusted to draw fair, constitutional maps as voted on by the people of Ohio. As a state representative, Megan will advocate to make it easier to vote by increasing the number of ballot drop boxes in each county, making Election Day a holiday, and supporting automatic voter registration. She will also fight to bring gerrymandering to an end.
Megan believes we need thoughtful, targeted property tax reform in the state of Ohio. We must ensure our communities and schools are receiving the funding they need to provide services but also provide relief for residents.
Megan believes affordability requires practical solutions: increasing the supply of safe, affordable housing, providing targeted property tax relief for those who need it most, and passing state budgets that prioritize working families over special interests. Ohio should be a place where people can build a stable life without constantly worrying about how to make ends meet.
Public education in Ohio for K-12 students has been unconstitutionally funded for decades, and the current voucher program for private schools has exacerbated that problem. Megan will support reviewing the Fair School Funding Plan that was left out of the FY2026-27 budget by the current state legislature. As a graduate of Ohio’s public schools and the daughter of a retired public school teacher, Megan understands the urgency of proper funding for our public schools. Good public schools are good for everyone in Ohio.
Megan recognizes that she is elected by the people and that elected officials shouldn’t be part of drawing the maps that determine their districts. She believes that ending gerrymandering in our state is key to reducing hyperpartisanship. Regardless of party, Megan recognizes that her patients and neighbors need a champion in Columbus.
