Capping utility rate increases at 3% per year. Eliminate the sales tax on utilities, and legislation to enable local grid buybacks for communities pursuing utility localization. We would also introduce responsible tax incentives for cheaper wind and solar generation in the state. Including research incentives.
Education is one of the single most important foundations of a society. In Indiana, we have been lacking in that capacity. I will give all of our teachers and educators a much needed raise. I will increase literacy funding, specifically for the expansion of libraries and their services.. I will set up a fund for mobile libraries to help bring books to those who have trouble getting to the library. I also will work on increasing funding for higher education..
I have a comprehensive plan to ensure sustainable funding for all critical services. Implementing a standardized tax on loans exceeding $1,000,000. This would help fund much of the infrastructure and educational needs. Especially when paired with a regulatory infraction tax of 80% for any industries found violating EPA and state regulations.
Yes! I would suggest that we provide public housing projects that allow for the dignity of a private space, and basic necessities. We clothe them, we house them, and we help them find ways to move forward. We will not leave them behind; stable housing allows individuals to successfully apply for disability benefits and other essential services that require a permanent address. A primary barrier for those with sudden disabilities is the loss of housing, as the lack of a permanent address often prevents them from accessing the very benefits they need.
