Community Involvement
My community involvement is defined by a lifelong commitment to Merrill and Lincoln County, where my wife Laura and I are raising our eigh children. Beyond my formal appointments to the Police and Fir

Lori Anderson-Malm did a great job representing Lincoln County’s second district. She was a great asset as a Lincoln County Supervisor. When I found out she decided to not run this year, I decided to seek office because I want to continue that tradition of strong, honest representation. I am deeply invested in our community, and I want to ensure that families in District 2 have a voice on the board that looks out for their financial well-being and common-sense needs.
The two biggest issues the County is facing at this moment is keeping taxes under control while providing the necessary services and infrastructure the citizens of Lincoln County depend on. My experience as a small business owner and as a member of Merrill’s Redevelopment Authority Committee gives me the background to make the tough decisions that will allow us to maintain our roads and essential services without placing an unnecessary tax burden on our residents. We have to be disciplined with every dollar to make sure we are not asking more of taxpayers than what is absolutely required.
My experience as the owner of Les & Jim’s Lincoln Lanes managing budgets and 30+ employees helps me appreciate not only how to spend money responsibly, but also helps me to understand how regulation and taxes impacts us, the citizens of Merrill. I am also an appointed member of Merrill’s Redevelopment Authority where I work to ensure our local economic development projects are fiscally sound and beneficial to the taxpayers. Additionally, as a member of Merrill’s Police and Fire Commission, I have direct experience with oversight, budgeting, and ensuring that our public safety departments have the support they need to keep our community safe while remaining accountable to the public.
I have always been an outspoken member of the Merrill community. I won’t allow issues to be hidden or swept under the rug. I have always made myself available by phone and email, but I am also always available to talk about making our community a better place to live while in the community or at my business. As your Supervisor, I will continue to be out in public where I can be reached, and I will make it a priority to clearly communicate what is happening at the county level so that voters in District 2 always know how their money is being used.

Doerr for County Supervisor
I feel the current Board does not listen to the constituents. Decisions seem to be made by a slim majority without seeking input from the Citizens.
The Highway department needs to replace the 2 garages (Merrill & Tomahawk at an estimated cost of $40 million dollars. There will be a tax increase to Lincoln County Residents of about $34.00 per $100,000.00 property value. This has been discussed for 10 years with no action. Now it is a must to replace the garages. The other issues without much citizen input were the sale of Pinecrest, Closing Lincoln Industries and defund the UW Extension service.
I have held many leadership positions. I have achieved those positions by listening to people and working to meet their concerns. I will bring those concerns to the full board and support their positions in meetings.
I will have listening sessions and encourage Citizens to contact me by phone or email. I will try to keep people informed on issues before the Board and encourage their input. I think there are issues that do not need closed sessions. I will pursue some clarity on what needs to be discussed in closed sessions, so citizens are not kept in the dark till it is too late to offer any input.
