If anyone has talked with me at any point in the last two years, they know that I absolutely love the work I get to do on behalf of the voters in Oneida County. No line of work has ever instilled a greater sense of pride, and I genuinely enjoy every minute of every single meeting, and committee I get to be a part of. Whether it is my role in public safety, economic development, regional planning, transit, tourism, libraries, or workforce development, I look forward to serving on behalf of the taxpayers for another two years.
The primary focus should always be balancing the budget. This is going to prove particularly challenging as our pandemic-era funding sources draw to a close, and we continue to be faced with serious inflation in wage, benefit, and infrastructure costs. Secondarily, while there has been excellent recent progress made with multi-family housing across Oneida County, housing is still a pressing issue facing our local economy, and we should continue to provide focused support for additional developments.
In this term as Oneida County Board Supervisor, I currently serve on eleven distinct committee appointments, and I have actively taken on additional committee work when presented with the opportunity. This has also included attending innumerable meetings outside of those expected — not just at the local level, but across the state, and the occasional conversation with legislators at the State Capitol itself. Outside of governmental roles, I also serve on the Minocqua Fire Department, and have a seat on the Board of Directors for several local non-profits, including the Minocqua Area Visitors Bureau, where I advocate for our local community daily.
As evidenced by my answers to the previous questions, my interests place me at the forefront of many local conversations, where I do my utmost to be both available, and responsive to inquiries from the public. While my contact information is publicly available, I also hand out literally hundreds of business cards to Oneida County residents who have questions — even those from outside my district. If I do not have the specific answer they are requesting, I am always glad to help find it.
