I love living in the Northwoods and want to keep it that way. We must protect our landscape from metallic mining, PFAS contamination, and wake boating. These issues have recently been presented to the board and voters want action. We deserve a supervisor who actively participates in board and committee meetings. The incumbent missed nine this term. We need a supervisor committed to protecting our Northwoods and managing resources with fiscal pragmatism. I’m running to be the voice that is actually in the room, listening to and acting on behalf of constituents.
Oneida County is grappling with two major issues. First, we have to protect our natural resources, like our water and woods, which are the backbone of our tourism and forest economy. It’s crucial to honor the 62% of voters who said no to the Lynne deposit mining proposal and to implement wake boating limits to keep our waters pristine. Second, we must address our care infrastructure and fiscal resilience. We’re stuck in a cycle of temporary fixes that are costly, like dealing with an ancient Highway Shop. Additionally, we need to take advantage of state legislation to strengthen our workforce, for example, using new grants for EMS courses. By tackling these issues head-on, we can ensure sustainable growth and stability for Oneida County.
My diverse background in healthcare and retail equips me to serve effectively on the County Board. I’ve successfully navigated complex data sets in large companies and non-profits, which will be invaluable for managing modern county government needs. My design approach translates data into actionable solutions, like zoning configurations for young families and retirees. As a first-generation graduate with a bachelor’s in life sciences and a PhD in Product Design, I’ve led teams to enhance products and services across industries. My problem-solving skills are honed by actively listening to those affected. As a Woodboro resident and outdoor enthusiast, I’m eager to bring my technical skills and passion for public service to the County Board.
I am committed to promoting transparency and accessibility by ensuring that District 12 has a strong voice in County decision-making. As your representative, I will maintain a full-time presence at all County Board and committee meetings. I will prioritize “listening to find underlying values” as a key tool for public engagement. My career involved listening to multiple stakeholders, from medical practitioners to delivery drivers and collaborating across departments from engineering to operations. We need to listen to our experts, whether it is the snowmobile council or veteran affairs. Together, we can move beyond the same old political games and work towards a future of good governance and community empowerment.
