DATA CENTERS: Data centers can bring some economic benefit, but also have a negative impact on the power grid, water supply, and land use. Do you support the establishment of additional data centers in Maryland? Why or why not?

UTILITY COSTS: What do you see as the factors contributing to escalating utility costs in Maryland? How will you address them?

TRANSPORTATION: Should the availability of public transportation be improved across the state? Why or why not?

BUDGET: Maryland is required to balance the budget every year. What will be your three top budget priorities, and what programs will you fight for?

IMMIGRATION: Immigrants are an important part of our community and make significant contributions, including to Maryland's economy. What will you do to support immigrant communities in Maryland?

I would support additional Data Centers as needed. Theses center would be responsible for any additional cost above normal and and land taxes based on the size.
The major cost of increase is due to the high salaries of their executives and the fact that they are basically self regulated. It is time to revisit the authority given the energy providers.
Yes! We are currently face a higher cost of fuel (s) and the need to move larger populations of people for work and relaxation. The greater use of public transportation will cut down on highway traffic and could aid in the elimination of emission testing.
1. Public Safety and Juvenile Justice . In order to have a successful community public safety drives persons desire to travel and support the economy people who are afraid spend less money resulting in fewer tax dollars 2, Taxes and Fees .The state of Maryland can not continue to dream up ghost taxes [fees]. 3. [Roads and Bridges] The downing of the Key Bridge has pointed out to the need for better studies and plans to address the possible problems that could arise when there's no plans.
I will support programs that aid in the protection of persons in Maryland. I will assist and fight for regulations that rein in illegal ICE activities.

Data centers can create jobs and strengthen Maryland’s economy, but they must be planned responsibly. These facilities place significant demands on electricity, water, and land. Any development should align with infrastructure capacity, environmental protections, and local land-use planning, include meaningful community input, and ensure no single community—especially those already facing environmental burdens—bears a disproportionate share of these projects.
Rising utility costs are driven by aging infrastructure, growing demand on the electric grid, and the investments needed to keep our energy system reliable. That means stronger oversight of rate increases through the Maryland Public Service Commission, making sure large energy users (like data centers) contribute fairly to infrastructure costs, and expanding energy-efficiency programs that help families lower their bills.
Expanding public transportation across Maryland improves mobility, strengthens our economy, and connects residents to jobs, education, and essential services. Strategic investments in reliable transit—especially in underserved areas—can reduce congestion, support regional growth, and provide families with more affordable transportation options while helping our communities remain competitive and environmentally sustainable.
We must balance long-term commitments and rising costs while protecting core investments in education, infrastructure, and services Maryland families rely on. That means growing the economy through job creation and commercial redevelopment, closing outdated tax loopholes so large corporations contribute fairly, and ensuring state agencies are right-sized—directing resources toward frontline services that support Marylanders.
I support practical policies that ensure all residents can safely access schools, healthcare, and essential services, and that workers are treated fairly under the law. That includes strengthening language access and supporting community organizations that help families navigate schools and public systems. We need clear policies that maintain trust between immigrant communities and our institutions including local public safety agencies.

As a public health professional, I am concerned about the growth of data centers and oppose establishing them in Maryland. Alongside federal rollbacks of environmental and health protections, data centers worsen public health and create poorer air quality, pollution, excess water usage, and may pose long-term negative impacts to our health such as cardiovascular and respiratory conditions. Expanding data centers should not come at the expense of our environment or community health.
Rising utility costs are driven by data centers placing heavy demands on our aging grid. Federal tax credits for clean energy like wind and solar were repealed, leading to canceled projects and less clean power. In 2025, I supported the Next Generation Energy Act, to provide ratepayer relief, expand energy storage, reform utility rate plans, and fast-track new generation. Additionally, I collaborated with legislators pushing for stronger grid accountability and renewable energy deployment.
Prioritizing public transportation brings economic, health, environmental, and social benefits. Investing in transit reduces reliance on gas-powered vehicles and better connects people to jobs, education, and community activities. We need a safe, reliable system for all users. Expanding transit means supporting MTA buses, rail, and mobility services, improving regional planning, creating local systems in communities like Randallstown and Catonsville, and advancing Complete Streets projects.
My top budget priorities are education, health, and transportation. In FY27, I am fighting for community schools that provide wraparound support through partnerships and dedicated coordinators. As a new mom and maternal health advocate, I support the Maternal and Child Health Population Improvement Fund to expand programs like newborn home visiting and CenteringPregnancy. And lastly, I am advocating for Complete Streets funding to build safe, reliable walking and biking infrastructure.
It is unacceptable that immigrant communities are being targeted and denied due process. This year, I co-sponsored HB 444 banning 287(g) agreements between local police and ICE, now law. I also co-sponsored HB 1575, to end local law enforcement collaboration with ICE. I support efforts that keep our schools, places of worship, cultural institutions, and our communities safe and free from ICE enforcement. I believe in making our communities welcoming, inclusive, and free from fear.

I do not support data centers in my legislative district because of the potential negative impact on our electric and water supply.
I think the biggest contributor of the rising costs of utilities is a huge increase in our monthly gas bills. The Assembly needs to take appropriate legislative action to bring the costs of gas and its delivery charges become more affordable for Maryland residents.
I believe that high quality public transportation system is essential for the growth of the middle class in Maryland, so people can commute to work, for business, and to schools, without the need and expense of owing a private vehicle.
My top 3 budget priorities would be providing funding for improved quality of K-12 Education, grants and loans for Small Businesses, and increased funding for mental health and drug rehab facilities (which indirectly help reduce homelessness).
I am an immigrant myself and I agree that immigrant population plays a very important role in the progress of this country. However, since immigration policy comes under the purview of the federal government, not the Maryland Assembly, I would like to suggest a clear and dignified path to legalization for all undocumented immigrants in our country.

I support responsible data center development in Maryland. As technology and cloud computing grow, these facilities can bring economic opportunity. However, projects must be carefully located and designed to protect communities. Developers should minimize strain on the power grid through renewable or self-generated energy and use water-saving technologies such as greywater and recirculating cooling systems. Economic growth must be balanced with environmental stewardship.
Rising utility costs in Maryland are driven by several factors, including increasing energy demand, limited in-state generation, transmission constraints, and volatility in regional energy markets. As our population grows and technology expands, supply has not kept pace with demand. The steps proposed by Maryland legislators are an important start toward addressing these challenges. Moving forward, we must increase reliable energy generation, modernize our grid, invest in diverse energy sources.
Yes. Expanding reliable public transportation across Maryland improves access to jobs, education, and health care while reducing traffic congestion and emissions. Strategic investment in transit, especially connecting regional job centers and underserved communities, supports economic growth and mobility. Improvements should focus on reliability, regional connectivity, and responsible use of public funds to ensure systems serve both urban and suburban communities effectively.
My top budget priorities are protecting Marylanders, making Maryland more affordable, and strengthening economic competitiveness through education. I will support record public safety investments for local police and community violence reduction, expanded childcare scholarships and housing supply to lower costs for families, and sustained Blueprint education funding and job-creating industry investments while maintaining environmental stewardship and fiscal responsibility.
Immigrants strengthen Maryland’s economy and communities. I have led efforts to protect fairness and trust, including advancing legislation addressing 287(g) agreements and championing the Maryland Community Trust Act to ensure due process and clear limits on local immigration enforcement. I will continue supporting policies that promote public safety, protect civil rights, and ensure immigrant families can contribute and thrive in Maryland.
