Environmental factors, rising consumer energy costs, and community concerns must be prioritized against any expansion of data centers in Maryland. These considerations are especially important in District 22 and Prince George’s County, where local input has historically been tossed aside in favor of corporate and special interests.
Utility costs in Maryland are skyrocketing due to corporate greed, unstable oil prices, and increased regional demand from data centers. We need better utility regulation coupled with green energy investments to make our homes, schools, and workplaces energy efficient and powered by renewable sources like wind, solar, and geothermal.
Absolutely. Your potential to thrive in Maryland should not be dictated by whether or not you can afford access to a vehicle. WMATA’s Metro and bus system is the lifeblood of District 22 and expands our residents’ access to schools, jobs, and recreation in an affordable way.
I will fight to make Maryland affordable for all by protecting and expanding workers’ rights, passing a $25/hour minimum wage indexed to inflation, and supporting Medicare for All. I will fight any cuts to the Blueprint and look for new revenue sources including closing corporate tax loopholes and cracking down on fraud by the ultra-wealthy and corporations.
I will continue to fight against the illegal and immoral actions of ICE by supporting legislation ending all 287(g) agreements, supporting the Community Trust Act, organizing against new facilities, and banning employees and firms associated with the conversion, construction, and/or operation of detention facilities from future employment or contracts with the state of Maryland.

I have serious concerns about large-scale data center expansion in Maryland. While they may bring some economic activity, they place heavy demands on the power grid, water supply, and land use, which can raise costs for residents and strain infrastructure. Maryland should prioritize responsible development that protects ratepayers, natural resources, and local communities. Until stronger safeguards are in place, I do not support encouraging additional data center development in Prince George's.
Maryland families are facing higher utility costs for several reasons, including rising energy demand, aging infrastructure that needs upgrades, volatility in regional energy markets, and the costs associated with modernizing our grid to meet future energy needs.
My focus is on protecting ratepayers while ensuring a reliable and cleaner energy system. That means strengthening oversight of utility companies and improving transparency in how rates are set.
Improving public transportation also strengthens our economy by connecting workers to employers and supporting local development. Investments in transit include buses, rail, and regional connections will help ensure communities across Maryland have safe, affordable, and dependable ways to get where they need to go. A strong transportation system should move people efficiently while supporting long-term growth and environmental goals.
My top budget priorities are public education, healthcare and public health, and economic stability for Maryland families. A balanced budget should reflect our values by protecting the investments that help Maryland families succeed and communities thrive.
Maryland’s strength comes from our diversity and contributions of its residents, and I will continue working to ensure our policies reflect that reality. Protecting access to education regardless of immigration status, supporting workforce and small business opportunities, and ensuring families can access healthcare and essential services. I also support policies that strengthen trust between immigrant communities and local institutions so families feel safe reporting crimes & seeking help.

I believe data centers should be strictly regulated and carefully zoned, especially away from residential areas. Data center companies should bear infrastructure costs and ensure they don’t compete with residents for power or raise energy prices.
Marylander’s skyrocketing utility bills have multiple contributing causes - rising energy demand, costs from transitioning to cleaner energy sources, limited in-state power generation, and infrastructure costs. We need to increase our in-state power generation, invest in clean energy and ensure policies balance affordability and sustainability.
Yes, public transportation allows families to get to work and school, which keeps our society and economy going. Public transportation should be reliable, accessible, and affordable. The Purple Line runs through my district, so I will push to ensure a smooth start and long-term operation for my constituents.
I will fight for public education, transportation and infrastructure, and protecting and supporting our seniors and most vulnerable. The state is facing difficult budget years ahead, but I endeavor to prioritize Blueprint funding for our schools, the completion of the purple line, and funding for seniors and those with disabilities.
I will support organizations like CASA who are advocating for our immigrant neighbors in Annapolis. I will also support organizations like PGIRC (Prince George's Immigrant Rights Collective) and Rt. 1 Mutual Aid, who are supporting our immigrant neighbors in District 22, delivering food to families impacted by ICE actions and strengthening the community.
