I do not support the establishment of additional data centers in Maryland. I believe that it would be destabilizing to our communities and pose unknown health risks in areas that may have already experienced health disparities due to negative environmental impacts. Furthermore, due to Maryland's inability to produce its own energy, it would pose an even greater burden on our electrical grid.
The fact that we import our power from outside the state, instead of producing our own electricity, directly contributes to higher utility rates and unaffordable energy demands on the electrical grid. I plan to address this by supporting legislation that will positively contribute to the development of sustainable options, using sources such as wind, solar, and nuclear energy.
Absolutely! The availability of public transportation should be improved across the state to provide residents with the ability to move throughout the state using various modes of public transportation, which would be more environmentally friendly.
My top three budget priorities are the Blueprint for Education, Healthcare reform, and Public Safety.
The programs I will fight for are the Blueprint for Education, by ensuring that we continue to fund public education and tuition assistance, by ensuring that college education is affordable and accessible to Maryland residents.
To support immigrant communities in Maryland, I currently work on policies to ensure equal and fair treatment through safeguarding access to labor, education, financial stability, affordable healthcare, and reasonable accommodations. I will continue these efforts to support immigrant community members and all the Marylanders within my district. I agree that they make significant contributions to the state and its economy.
