I believe voters should have the strongest possible voice in choosing their representatives. While party central committees currently fill vacancies, I support expanding the use of special elections so constituents can directly choose who represents them. Public offices should be filled through democratic participation whenever feasible, ensuring legitimacy and accountability to our community.
If appointments must occur under the current law, I would prioritize candidates with legislative knowledge, community involvement, and a demonstrated commitment to public service. The process should focus on who is best prepared to serve constituents, not who is most well-known, well-funded, or politically connected.
I want to serve on the Democratic Central Committee because I understand the challenges facing everyday Prince Georgians. As a 29-year-old father and husband navigating today’s changing economy and political climate, I believe our party must do a better job of reflecting the experiences and priorities of working families and younger generations.
I would prioritize appointing someone who will fight tooth and nail for the people they represent, especially the most vulnerable in our communities. I want someone with the tenacity to champion their legislation and the integrity to ensure the policies they support benefit the majority of their constituents while protecting those who need support most.

I support special elections when they align with the requirements of the County Charter. Special elections are important opportunities for voters to express their support for candidates and issues they care about. We should seek to protect those opportunities to the extent that it’s feasible and aligns with County law.
Maryland is a key player in national discussions around state responses to the federal landscape.

I would look for candidates who have a strong sense of integrity and accountability. Those who have a firm understanding of state government and who can empower Prince Georgians with that information.

Lastly, I’d be interested to see candidates with diverse experiences and backgrounds—as our county is diverse (in terms of demographics and professional backgrounds)
I want to serve on the Central Committee because I want to represent, activate and empower our voters—ultimately bringing wins back to District 26.

I look forward to being a present part in advancing our party— but most importantly I look forward to actively engaging voters (particularly youth voters, or those who have become disconnected from their power as voters). I think if we can engage people with empathy and trustworthy information we can go far.
I’ll ensure any appointments serve the best interest of the community by doing my homework. Appointing candidates to any position is important and should be done with careful, thorough consideration.

It’s also important that we keep our pipeline of potential officials open— we should be actively seeking talented individuals who are qualified and willing to fill vacancies. We have an abundance of talent that can be leveraged.
