Kent County Democratic Central Committee {_getChooseLabel(this.selections.length)}

DUTIES: The Democratic Central Committee is responsible for leading and organizing the day-to-day operations of the local Democratic Party. The Committee recommends candidates to the Governor to fill vacancies in state and local offices when a member of the party resigns or dies in office. County Central Committees work with the State Central Committee, which in turn works with the national party.TERM: Four years, no term limit.SALARY: None.HOW ELECTED: Democratic Central Committee members are elected­­­ countywide by registered party members in the Primary Election. Voters may vote for up to 10 candidates. The winners will be determined by the greatest number of votes, while taking into consideration that those elected will be as equally divided by gender as possible. I am a 17 year resident of Kent County and am a registered Democrat. I have been consistent in attending and participating in required meetings and additional gatherings and events. I participate in and am connected to many organizations and groups that serve diverse communities and I am committed to working for the benefit of Kent County citizens.

I am a lifelong Democrat and have been registered and have voted for Democrats since moving to Maryland in 2018. I’ve enjoyed meeting and working with other Democrats since then and therefore joined the Kent County Democratic Club and Central Committee. I ran for Central Committee Chair, to continually invite more Democrats to share and be vocal among others in the county. The committee has been able to assemble regularly, encourage and support candidates and educate fellow county Democrats.
