DUTIES: The Democratic Central Committee is responsible for leading and organizing the day-to-day operations of the local Democratic Party. The Committee recommends candidates to the Governor to fill vacancies in state and local offices when a member of the party resigns or dies in office. County Central Committees work with the State Central Committee, which in turn works with the national party.TERM: Four years, no term limit.SALARY: None.HOW ELECTED: Democratic Central Committee members are elected by registered party members. Each candidate has the choice of filing as an at-large candidate or as a representative of the candidate’s commissioner district of residence. Voters may vote for up to four of the candidates running at large and up to two candidates running from their own district of residence. The winners will be determined by the greatest number of votes, adjusted so that no more than half of the members elected are from the same gender.WEBSITE: Maryland Democratic Party

I want to serve on the Central Committee because I believe change starts locally. I'm ready to show up and do the work — whether that means working at the polls, staffing events, making phone calls, or helping raise the resources our party needs to succeed. My goal is simple: to strengthen our Democratic community from the ground up and help elect leaders who truly reflect our shared values.
