The Central Committee ensures continuity in vacancies, and that responsibility must be carried out with transparency and public trust.
Instead of a rigid checklist, I will prioritize candidates who have a proven record of service, integrity, and community impact.
I’ve spent the past few years serving at multiple levels of government, and I’m ready to take that work further. As someone who has grown up here, I’m committed to giving back and ensuring our leadership reflects both the next generation and those who came before us. At a time when our rights are being challenged, we need Democrats who will fight for us, and I’m ready to help strengthen that fight.
I will evaluate candidates based on their ability to represent diverse voices, address real challenges, and deliver results.
Yes, I support Special Elections if there is more than a year left on the term for the candidate for the general assembly.
I believe in honesty, ethics and leadership. I will not vote for any candidate that has ethics issues, is not seen as trustworthy and has not exhibited community volunteer leadership. I will only support a candidate for the general assembly who is a staunch supporter of LGBTQ, Hispanic/Immigrant and women's rights.
It has been an honor to have been elected in 2022 and serving a full term. I am asking for re-election to continue building our party and continuing to improve our community. The Trump regime and the Maryland Republican Party has done so much damage and we need strong Democrats to lead us in Anne Arundel County and Beyond. I believe in democracy and protecting the rights of those in our community.
I will read all candidate endorsement letters and interview each candidate, just as I did in appointing a State Senator and State Delegate. I will listen to my constituents and only vote for an appointment for someone who is deserving and has ethical leadership and will represent our values in the general assembly.

Having spent time in Democratic politics in both Maryland and Georgia, I’ve had the opportunity to observe multiple systems for filling vacancies, including appointment and special elections. Special elections can be expensive and typically have a low voter turnout, but the appointment system is also flawed. I’d like to see Special Elections if a term is less than 50% complete, and the Appointment process is used if the term is more than 50% complete.
When filling any vacancy, I will consider their current voting record if available, connection to their district, values, and motivation. I will not vote to appoint anyone who does not uphold the basic values of protecting marginalized communities and people, an economy that works for all, healthcare is a right, and democracy is worth defending every day. I will listen to all candidates before making my final decision.
I was appointed to fill a vacancy in District 33 in April 2025 and want to continue to serve not only District 33, but also all of Anne Arundel County. The charge of the Central Committee is to support and recruit candidates, turn out voters, and build the Democratic Party. I have served as the President and Secretary of the District 33 Democratic Club. I've supported candidates not only in my district, but throughout the County. I would like to continue the work. Politics is a team sport.
Anne Arundel County is a beautiful mix of urban, suburban, and rural communities. I’ve had the opportunity to speak with a wide variety of voters and have heard what their key issues are while doorknocking with candidates throughout the County. For example, if we are filling a vacancy in South County, we should be speaking with community leaders in South County. We should take a well rounded approach to hear from voices throughout a community as part of the appointment process.

Having spent time in Democratic politics in both Maryland and Georgia, I’ve seen multiple systems for filling vacancies. Unfortunately, in Georgia, I was on the Executive Committee for the State Party, and we were tasked with replacing John Lewis on the ballot after his death. Special Elections cost money, have much lower turnout, but Appointments are also flawed. I’d like to see Special Elections if a term is less than 50% complete, and Appointments used if the term is more than 50% complete.
When filling any vacancy I will consider: background, motivation, ideals/values, and commitment to community. I will not vote to appoint anyone who does not uphold the basic ideals of the Democratic Party: that the economy should work for everyone, health care is a right, our diversity is our strength, and democracy is worth defending. One value I will not compromise on is protecting our LGBTQIA+ brothers and sisters.
I’m currently the Treasurer for the District 33 Democratic Club and have served on the Central Committee and State Committee when I was in Georgia- so I have experience. I want to serve because I think my knowledge and talents are needed right now. While we had big wins in 2022, I think the Party could be doing a better job preparing and training our candidates and volunteers for the future. I want to make sure that our limited resources are used effectively to make sure we keep the County Blue!
Anne Arundel County is diverse; we have Urban, Suburban, and Rural areas throughout the county, and we have to meet those populations where they are to truly understand what the community wants and needs in their representation. I’ve knocked doors throughout this county and been able to speak with a wide variety of voters, and have heard what their key issues, values and needs are. When voting on Appointments, the Community they will serve will always be at top of mind.

Yes, I support special elections for General Assembly vacancies. Communities deserve a direct voice in choosing their representation, not just relying on party appointments. As a younger candidate, I believe democratic participation should be expanded, not limited. When a seat opens up, the people of that district should decide who fills it.
I would want someone who actually lives the experience of the people they'd represent. That means looking at their ties to the community, whether they've shown up before the opportunity arose, and if their values reflect working families in District 33. Age and fresh perspective matter too, this district needs people who are invested in its future.
I was raised by a single mother who worked hard to give me every opportunity. That upbringing taught me the importance of showing up for your community. I'm 23 and I want to bring that same work ethic to District 33 because younger people deserve a seat at the table and a party that actually fights for families like mine.
Before I cast any vote on an appointment I want to hear directly from the community, real conversations, not a comment box nobody reads. I'll be transparent about who I'm considering and why. My generation expects accountability and I plan to deliver it. If District 33 doesn't feel represented by my decision, I didn't do my job.
