DATA CENTERS: Data centers can bring some important economic benefits, but also have a negative impact on the power grid, water supply, and land use. Do you support the establishment of additional data centers in Maryland? Why or why not?
UTILITY COSTS: What do you see as the factors contributing to escalating utility costs in Maryland? How will you address them?
TRANSPORTATION: Should the availability of public transportation be improved across the state? Why or why not?
BUDGET: Maryland is required to balance the budget every year. What will be your three top budget priorities, and what programs will you fight for?
IMMIGRATION: Immigrants are an important part of our community and make significant contributions, including to Maryland's economy. What will you do to support immigrant communities in Maryland?
With the continued advancement of technology, data centers are an inevitable and growing part of our economy. I support the responsible development of data centers in Maryland because they can bring jobs, investment, and innovation to our state. However, without strong guardrails, they risk placing significant strain on our power grid, water resources, and surrounding communities.
The goal must be responsible growth, not unchecked expansion.
Marylanders are facing rising utility costs due to a combination of structural pressures on our energy system. These include increasing demand, constraints on in-state energy generation, aging grid infrastructure, and market volatility that can drive up prices for consumers.
Addressing these challenges requires a balanced and forward-looking approach. We must strengthen in-state energy generation to reduce reliance on external markets and improve price stability.
Public transportation is fundamentally about access. For many Marylanders, especially in rural areas, suburban communities, and underserved urban neighborhoods, limited transit options can mean limited access to jobs, education, and healthcare. Expanding and improving service helps connect people to opportunity and strengthens the workforce.
From an economic perspective, strong transit systems support business growth and regional competitiveness.
Maryland’s balanced budget requirement means we must be disciplined and strategic in how we invest taxpayer dollars. My top three budget priorities focus on strengthening our future, lowering costs for families, and protecting our most vulnerable communities.
Maintaining full funding for the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future is essential to ensure every student has access to a high-quality education, supported by strong teachers and the resources needed to succeed.
Maryland’s diversity is one of its greatest strengths, and public policy should reflect and support that.
Ensuring that immigrant communities feel safe and protected must remain a priority. This includes advancing and upholding state-level protections that safeguard due process, prevent discrimination, and maintain clear boundaries between local services and federal immigration enforcement. Residents should be able to access schools, healthcare, and public safety services without fear.
