I support the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and the For the People Act to protect access to the ballot, restore federal protections against discrimination, expand early and mail voting, and reduce dark money in politics. Election integrity means every eligible voter can vote, every lawful vote is counted accurately, and the public can trust the process.
No. Enforcement-only approaches make communities less safe by driving families into the shadows, making workers more vulnerable to exploitation, and undocumented people less likely to report crimes. I support a path to citizenship, stronger labor protections for immigrant workers, humane asylum and refugee systems, and community trust policies that keep local law enforcement separate from federal immigration enforcement.
I will fight to lower costs by taking on the systems driving them. That means Medicare for All to guarantee affordable healthcare, public power to bring down energy bills, fighting for major federal investment in our mass transit, and taking on speculation to invest more in truly affordable housing. I will also protect SNAP and LIHEAP so families can afford food and keep the lights on while we rebuild an economy that works for working people.
The United States should lead with principle, diplomacy, and accountability, placing a mission of peace at the center of our foreign policy. That means ending blank checks for war, defending human rights, strengthening alliances, and prioritizing stability over conflict. We should invest more in our communities at home instead of endless wars abroad, and ensure our leadership reflects our values.
In this moment, the social safety net is under direct attack. I will fight to protect Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, SNAP, and LIHEAP from cuts and privatization, and strengthen them so they actually meet the cost of living. No family should have to choose between food, heat, medicine, or rent. These programs exist because we believe in dignity, and I will defend them against any effort to take them away.

I have introduced the Vote by Mail Tracking Act. This bill ensures ballots cast by mail can be tracked, boosting confidence and transparency in elections.

I support the John Lewis Voting Rights Act of 2025, which would restore and modernize the protections of the 1965 Voting Rights Act.

I oppose the SAVE America Act, legislation that would require a passport or birth certificate to register to vote and end most mail-in voting.
I strongly oppose this Administration’s approach to enforcing immigration law. Deploying poorly trained officers to harass our communities has forced undocumented immigrants, those with legal status, and even citizens to live in fear, with many feeling they can no longer safely leave their homes. I am refusing to fund immigration enforcement until reforms are made to ensure federal officials follow the law, respect people’s rights and are held accountable for wrongdoing.
Urgent action is needed to improve affordability. I have taken on BG&E to reduce costs and have cosponsored the Energy Bills Relief Act, which increases the supply of cheap, clean energy. I strongly support Medicare for All, and support expanding the Child Tax Credit to help parents afford childcare. I will work to support and expand funding for Section 8 vouchers to address housing costs. I support the Food Deserts Act, which would provide funding to address food deserts and provide access.
Taking a leadership role in global affairs is essential for our prosperity and security. The US must participate in initiatives to combat global threats, including the Paris Climate Agreement and World Health Organization. I am opposed to starting reckless wars abroad and instead advocate for cooperation with our allies to peacefully resolve shared threats. We should also restore our foreign assistance programs, which cost very little, improve our image abroad, and save millions of lives.
I will safeguard social safety net programs by voting against efforts to cut these key benefits and supporting legislation to improve and expand them. I will continue to prioritize funding for these programs in annual appropriations bills. Lastly, I will use my leadership position as Ranking Member on the Government Operations Subcommittee to protect the federal workforce and exercise oversight over the agencies responsible for administering Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, SNAP, and others.
