I’m Joseph Gomes, strongly support, secure, and transparent elections. I will advocate for updated voting infrastructure, paper ballot backups, cybersecurity protections, and strict enforcement against interference. Expanding access through early voting and voter education, while ensuring accurate counts and accountability, will strengthen public trust and protect our democratic process.
I’m Joseph Gomes, supports a balanced approach that enforces the law while respecting human dignity. We need secure borders, efficient processing, and a fair pathway for those who contribute to our economy and safety. Reform should address workforce needs, reduce backlogs, and keep families together while maintaining national security and rule of law.
I’m Joseph Gomes, will work to lower costs by expanding affordable housing, supporting small businesses, and reducing healthcare and prescription costs. Investing in childcare, education, and local job growth will strengthen families. Smart tax relief and economic policies can ease the burden and create opportunities for working-class Marylanders.
I’m Joseph Gomes support for our national security and safety, the United States must lead with strength, diplomacy, and responsibility. Our democratic values maintain strong alliances and promote global stability. Economic partnerships, our security, and humanitarian leadership are essential to protecting our interests and advancing peace worldwide.
I’m Joseph Gomes, I will protect and strengthen programs like Social Security, Medicare, and food assistance. Ensuring accountability, reducing waste, and expanding access for those in need are priorities. We must support seniors, families, and vulnerable Marylanders while promoting pathways to self-sufficiency and long-term stability.

The SAVE Act would strip 21 million Americans of voting eligibility through a citizenship documentation trap. The Voting Rights Act is being gutted amid federal inaction on enforcement. I will pass the John Lewis Act, block citizenship requirements, and fund election infrastructure properly. In 2024, Prince George's voters waited in lines past 8 pm because our polling capacity failed them. That is not acceptable, and it is not an accident.
Raids without reform do not fix anything. Families in Langley Park, Hyattsville, and Riverdale are being separated while the backlogged immigration courts sit with over 3 million pending cases. I support comprehensive reform with legal pathways, humane enforcement, and fully funded immigration courts. Prince George's County's restaurants, construction sites, and care facilities run on immigrant labor. Policies that ignore that reality are not serious policies.
In Prince George's County, 52 percent of residents are rent burdened, childcare costs nearly 24,000 dollars annually, and grocery prices are up 32 percent since 2019. I work in an 11 billion dollar public asset portfolio; I know exactly where federal housing and healthcare dollars stall before reaching families. I will fight for Medicare for All, housing vouchers, universal preK, and transit corridors connecting our residents to jobs, not just vote for them.
Democracy is not just a value; it is a fundamental infrastructure. Free elections, independent courts, and civil society organizations require sustained investment to survive. I will restore funding to democracy support programs dismantled in 2025, not because District 4 has federal workers whose jobs depend on it, but because autocracy anywhere creates instability everywhere, and instability is expensive for American workers, soldiers, and taxpayers.
Social Security faces a 23 percent automatic cut by 2032 if Congress does nothing, and the recent tax bill just accelerated that clock by draining 169 billion from the trust fund. I will fight to lift the payroll tax cap on incomes above 400,000 to shore up solvency without cutting benefits. Federal layoffs are already hitting Prince George's County now. Our seniors, federal workers, and families will not absorb the damage of congressional inaction.

I will continue to support legislation that protects election integrity by expanding voter access, protecting early voting and vote-by-mail, enabling automatic and same-day voter registration, and safeguarding our democratic institutions for future generations.
I am also strongly opposed to the SAVE act, which aims to restrict voter access and is a threat to our free and fair elections.
No! The Administration’s reckless approach to immigration enforcement, particularly its use of DHS and ICE, has undermined trust in our justice system and left many communities right here in Maryland living in fear. Recent incidents, including fatal shootings involving federal immigration agents, have only deepened these concerns. Everyone, regardless of status, deserves due process. We need immigration policies that uphold the rule of law while respecting human dignity.
During my time in Congress, I’ve supported efforts to lower the cost of living for Maryland families. But those gains are now being undermined by reckless tariffs, which act as a hidden tax on working people and drive up prices on everyday goods. At the same time, Republican attacks on the Affordable Care Act are raising health care costs and threatening coverage for millions. I’m fighting back to reverse these harmful policies and protect Maryland families.
I support strengthening our alliances and prioritizing diplomacy to achieve our goals and resolve conflicts whenever possible. America is strongest when we work with trusted partners and lead through cooperation, not isolation. We should avoid unnecessary escalation while remaining firm in defense of our values and national interests. Our international actions should reflect the long-term security, stability, and prosperity of the American people.
I strongly support protecting safety-net programs like Social Security, SNAP, SSI, and Medicaid. Republican health care cuts are already raising costs, weakening Medicaid and ACA protections, and putting coverage at risk for millions of Americans. I am fighting to reverse these harmful cuts and restore the protections families rely on. I will continue standing up for Maryland families and defending these essential lifelines.

Strong elections require both access and integrity. I'll work to make it easier for people to vote through things like automatic registration and a national Election Day holiday, and also ensuring every vote is counted accurately through secure systems, audits, and transparent oversight. I'll push for automatic recounts in close races, and make sure every vote is cast in an auditable format.
No. Current enforcement practices prioritize detention, family separation and deportation over humanity and fairness. It not only targets vulnerable communities, but it fails to address root causes of undocumented migration. We should focus on community-based solutions that protect due process, keep families together and create more humane pathways to citizenship.
I'll fight for universal healthcare for all, to raise the federal minimum wage, and index it to inflation so it keeps up with the cost of living. I’ll support national rent stabilization models with local flexibility, and ban hedge funds and large corporations from buying single-family homes in our neighborhoods. I’ll champion social housing co-ops, community land trusts, and permanently affordable units, while ending exclusionary zoning and incentivizing multi-family housing near jobs.
The U.S. should lead through diplomacy, alliances, and international cooperation. Our role is to prevent conflict, support human rights, and address global challenges like climate change and public health. Military force should be a last resort, used only when necessary to protect lives and international stability.
We should protect and expand the safety net by fully funding Social Security based on the real cost of living, transitioning Medicare and Medicaid to a full universal healthcare model, and increasing SNAP benefits so they reflect the actual cost of feeding a family. I’d also support a child tax credit, housing vouchers, and paid family leave to reduce poverty and support working families.

I support legislative action to safeguard the Constitutional principle of state-managed elections, to combat the recent assault on state's rights in the election space by federal overreach. I also strongly support legislation to strengthen the Voting Rights Act, currently being dismantled by the Supreme Court, to ensure that Americans of all ethnicities are represented fairly.
I am opposed to the SAVE Act and other voter suppression laws.
I have worked ten years in the immigration space in the federal government, and led the fight inside government against the cruel family separation policy in the first Trump Administration. I support much stronger protections for the human rights of immigrant families. I support curbs on the power of ICE and CBP, including ending searches without warrants and "sweeps" of communities based on profiling. I support laws to protect family unity and prevent family separation in immigration laws.
I support a $27/hour minimum wage. I am fighting for healthcare as a universal right, with Medicare for all. I will propose legislation for publicly-funded universal childcare. I support HUD taking action to make housing and home ownership available to working Americans, with a renewed focus on middle-income housing supports, and outlawing giant private companies speculating in single-family dwellings. I support free public college or trade school in exchange for 4 years' national service.
The role of the US should be to support democracy worldwide. The US needs to reinforce its alliance with NATO, and stand up more to Putin in support of Ukraine. The US needs to apply the Leahy Law consistently, including conditioning military support to Israel on an end to human rights abuses in Gaza and the West Bank.
We must actively protect funding for means-tested human services programs like LIHEAP, WIC, SNAP, and TANF. However, the best social safety net is a living wage and access to healthcare; I support making the national minimum wage $27 and making healthcare insurance coverage universal.
