I have 35 years of law enforcement experience, including 25 with the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office, where I held several leadership roles including Lieutenant of Road Patrol, and Lieutenant of the Civil/Court Division. Additionally, I have experience with the SWAT Team, Criminal Bureau of Investigations, and Detective Divisions. Currently, I am Corporal of Road Patrol in Somerset County. I am also a proud veteran of both the Marine Corps and Army Reserves; and served two combat tours in Iraq.
My priorities are enhancing public safety through more collaborative efforts with local jurisdictions to help solve and reduce violent crime. I also plan to strengthen staffing levels; ensure fiscal responsibility and reduce taxpayer waste; implement merit-based testing; and uphold a strict standard of transparency.
My goals in involving residents to improve community safety include establishing a confidential, anonymous tip line; forming a Reserve Officer Unit; hosting regular Town Hall meetings; and actively supporting community-building events like National Night Out. I am firmly committed to being present and active within our community. I intend to be consistently visible and engaged, not just during high-profile events or when media is present.
I will ensure that officers treat everyone fairly by enforcing high standards of conduct in line with current policy; ensuring internal random audits of body-worn cameras to ensure the professional conduct of deputies; working with community leaders to maintain transparency in the investigation of allegations of misconduct; and increasing the number of officers trained in and utilizing Crisis Intervention Training.
