I am confident in my ability to serve, grounded in administrative work and shaped by my life experiences. I am committed to the safety, mental health, and constitutional protections of all people. While my original path was not in law enforcement, I respect the dedication of those who serve and the challenges they face. I will lead by listening, valuing the voices of the community and first responders, and building trust for a safer, more collaborative future.
We cannot fix crime through policing alone. Real progress requires accountability while addressing root causes like poverty, mental health, and lack of opportunity. We must work together with various social services to strengthen families and expand opportunity both within and out of the Sheriff’s office. We all share responsibility in shaping the community we hope to become and in creating safer, more connected neighborhoods.
I will focus on strengthening partnerships across the community to support families, expand resources, and help to prevent problems before they escalate. Public safety is strongest when communities are stable, connected, and supported. My goal is to invest in both protection and prevention to help build a safer, more resilient community where everyone uses their abilities to work toward a better future.
Fairness must be part of our culture, not just written into policy. It should guide how we lead, train, and serve each day. Ongoing training through education, leadership, and accountability in cultural awareness, mental health, and special needs is essential. This helps ensure everyone has effective tools for de-escalation, quick decision making, and the ability to build trust within the community we are committed to protecting and serving.
