My name is Demetria Marshall . My work in the community has taught me that fairness, patience, and sound judgment matter when families face difficult moments involving estates, guardianship, and the loss of loved ones. Those experiences guide how I would serve on the Orphans’ Court. I support open primaries because broader participation strengthens democracy and gives more voters a voice in choosing those who serve the public and who are entrusted with decisions that affect families and communities.

After Judge Cantwell died in office, I was vetted by the Governor’s Appointments Office as a “suitable person,” as required by the State Constitution, and was appointed by Governor Moore to fill the vacancy.

I am a lifelong resident of Wicomico County and a graduate of JMB High School and Salisbury University, where I earned a B.A. in Liberal Studies, including coursework in Business Law.

In the private sector, I served as a Quality Manager in the microwave electronics industry. I also taught Quality Management at Wor-Wic Community College for nine years.

During my two years on the bench, I have completed numerous courses through the Maryland Judicial College and the National College of Probate Judges.
