I started my technology career working for a small business that developed budgeting software for large county governments. My professional experience in the private sector includes performing technical and financial compliance assessments of information systems handling transactions totaling millions of dollars per year and managing the technology of those systems and the teams which maintained them. My credentials include an MBA with a concentration in finance and an MS in Cybersecurity.
The County Treasurer collects state and county tax payments, primarily consisting of the real estate and personal property taxes which make up the majority of funding for our county government. I hold professional certifications in information system auditing and security and will manage the people and systems delivering this service for the taxpayers of Washington County so that it is provided in a way that is secure, reliable, accurate, and aligned with county operations.
As the elected Treasurer, I will work for and be accountable to the citizens of Washington County directly. Long term, taxpayers deserve service that is taxpayer-focused, accurate, and efficient. My immediate priorities will be to establish the integrity of the office and its operations, improve relationships and cooperation with citizens and local government officials, and make sure operations are aligned with county governance.
