DUTIES: The State's Attorney prosecutes and defends, on the part of the State, all criminal cases in Talbot County in which the State may be interested. The State's Attorney heads a team of prosecutors, victim advocates, case managers, investigators and other administrative staff. In addition to seeking justice in criminal cases, the State's Attorney's office provides training to lawyers, promotes fairness and ensures access to the criminal justice system, fosters professional relations with judges and attorneys, educates the public about criminal justice issues, and seeks to further the efficient use of criminal justice resources.BASE SALARY: $ 161,066TERM: Four years, no term limit.HOW ELECTED: Elected county-wide.
