DUTIES: The Republican Central Committee is responsible for leading and organizing the day-to-day operations of the local Republican Party. The Committee recommends candidates to the Governor to fill vacancies in state and local offices when a member of the party resigns or dies in office. County Central Committees work with the State Central Committee, which in turn works with the national party.TERM: Four years, no term limit.SALARY: None.HOW ELECTED: Republican Central Committee members are elected countywide by registered party members.

Maryland’s Constitution assigns filling General Assembly vacancies to the party’s local Central Committee, whose members are elected by voters in that district. This system ensures representation is restored quickly and avoids the cost and delay of special elections. It also helps prevent voter fatigue. Central Committee members are chosen by Republican voters to exercise this responsibility carefully and transparently.
Integrity would be my top priority. We need leaders who respect the rule of law, support strong enforcement of our criminal laws, and protect the integrity of our elections. I would also look for someone who reflects the values of the district, has the judgment to make sound decisions, and is committed to serving the public responsibly.
I want to serve on the Central Committee to strengthen the Republican Party in St. Mary’s County by recruiting strong candidates, engaging voters, and promoting leaders who uphold the Constitution, enforce our laws, and protect election integrity. Our community deserves representatives who act with integrity and advance conservative principles.
I will ensure appointment decisions serve the community by selecting candidates with proven integrity, respect for the law, and commitment to public safety and election integrity. I will prioritize individuals who uphold conservative principles, demonstrate leadership, and will act in the best interest of St. Mary’s County residents, not personal or political agendas.
