DUTIES: The State’s Attorney is the lead prosecutor for criminal violations in the County. The State s Attorney prosecutes, on the part of the State, all criminal cases in which the State may be interested. There are three divisions in the Office of the State’s Attorney: Circuit Court Division, District Court Division, and Child Support Division. The State’s Attorney serves as legal advisor to the Grand Jury.TERM: Four years. HOW ELECTED: Elected countywide.
