DUTIES: The Republican Central Committee is responsible for leading and organizing the day-to-day operations of the local Republican Party. The Committee recommends candidates to the Governor to fill vacancies in state and local offices when a member of the party resigns or dies in office. County Central Committees work with the State Central Committee, which in turn works with the national party.TERM: Four years, no term limit.SALARY: None.HOW ELECTED: Republican Central Committee members are elected countywide by registered party members.

I believe that special elections shouldn't be held in these situations. Historically, special elections draw fewer voters and may not be representative of the broader population. There is less campaign time and less engagement.
When a position held by a Republican becomes vacant, the community that voted for that official should receive an appointee who aligns with their political beliefs.
I am going to quote our first Republican President! Abraham Lincoln said "Let us have faith that right makes might, and in that faith, let us, to the end, dare to do our duty as we understand it".
I mentioned political belief alignment. As the current Republican Central Committee Chairwoman - I can say we welcome community engagement input. I value servant leadership qualities.

I support letting central committees from either party choose the replacement. This way, we get a quick experienced person who matches the party voters originally picked, without the extra cost and hassle of a special election.
Must be from the same political party and district. Vetting through applications, interviews. Community ties, electability, also ability to win future elections.
I want to serve on my central committee to meet my community and help with all volunteering efforts. I like recruiting strong candidates, filling vacancies fairly, and getting people involved to build a stronger community for all. I love Queen Anne's County.
Pick candidates with strong district ties who understand local needs. Get input from residents and community leaders through online postings, interviews, and ensure fairness. Maintain honesty, integrity, and transparency.
