As a dedicated community member, father of two little girls being experienced law enforcement executive, demonstrating my proven track record in reducing crime, keeping safe schools, continued fiscal responsibility and fostering community policing initiatives prepares me well for the continued role of Sheriff. I am committed to maintaining fairness in serving our diverse community.
The biggest challenge as Sheriff is overcoming national perceptions that deter new deputies from joining. Our unique and diverse community, paired with isolated national incidents and law enforcement reform, can make recruitment tough. By emphasizing retention initiatives and showcasing our supportive community, we can highlight our positive work environment commitment to being very different.
To maintain a positive relationship with the community, our staff will continue to attend meetings and events, reinforcing we are part of this community. We prioritize transparency in investigations and ensure equal protection for all, especially vulnerable groups like children and seniors. Our zero-tolerance approach to crime will emphasize fairness, equality and safety for everyone we serve,
My top three priorities for improving public safety are: 1) Addressing high-crime areas to reduce criminal activity; 2) Seeking grant funding to minimize taxpayer burden while deploying cutting-edge technology and educational programs for vulnerable populations; 3) Protecting schools, churches, and public spaces from potential threats. These initiatives will help ensure our community safety.
To ensure transparency in arrest decisions, we have enhanced body-worn camera technology and established a process for citizens to voice concerns and seek mediation. While maintaining a zero-tolerance stance on crime, we will treat each individual fairly and equally. Our staff has received training to differentiate between mental health issues and criminal behavior fostering compassion w community
