I do support special elections.
Special Elections allow voters to decide who should fill the vacant seat in their respective district. I would promote a fair, effective, and efficient special elections process that returns the power and decision-making to our voters on who they want to represent them.
My criteria will consist of the person's commitment to the conservative values of America First, Law and Order, Support of the 287G program and reinstating it in Maryland, eliminating sanctuary status for Maryland, supporting law enforcement and our military, reducing taxes and fees, promoting smart-balanced growth, fiscal responsibility, and bringing businesses back to Maryland.
I believe Harford County deserves a Republican Party that is principled, well organized, and focused on messaging our core values of limited government, individual freedoms, true fiscal responsibility, and law and order by supporting our public safety partners.
I want to help the Harford County Central Committee build a stronger, more unified party that works seamlessly with our elected officials, and commnity stakeholders to achieve our established goals of safer and thriving communities.
As a 35 year law enforcement officer who currently works as an Executive Level Police Commander in our community, and being married to my beautiful, in so many ways, wife who is an Advanced Practice Nurse and business owner; I have developed many relationships within all sectors of government, the community, and our business community. My experience, aforementioned relationships, and living in this County for 48 years provides me keen insight on what is in the best interests of Harford County.

I do not believe a special election to fill a General Assembly member is the right answer. Special elections are costly and turn out would be low.
I would be looking for someone that listen to constituents and colleagues. I would look for the person that has the best interest of the district in mind and not a personal agenda. I would also look for someone that knows when to stand on principles and when to compromise.
I want to build and expand the Republican Party. I'd like establish listening tours. Tours that just listen to peoples issues and concerns.
By keeping in tune with the community and listening to voters issues and concerns I would get an understanding of what the community wants in a representative leader. During an interview process, would ask questions on how prospective candidates would address those topics of interest in the community.

No. Special elections would require logistical and time constraints that would be difficult or impossible for any local board of elections to spin up and conduct an election. We face short timeframes to provide appointment name(s).
Our committee sends out a questionnaire for applicants. We need to check residency status, background and voter registration status. We also ask questions tailored to the local issues that they would represent.
Desire to participate in the political process free of special interests or outside influence. I never intend to run for any other office, so I am not there for the political resume line item.
We cannot ensure that, per se. We ask questions during a vetting process and always conduct face to face interviews with other questions and clarifications to determine the best candidate. In our county, we have 12 committee members with varied backgrounds so I think we do a good job with this aspect.

While I understand when vacancies occur all voters should have a right to choose a replacement of their choice, I feel that a special election would be quite difficult and costly with poor voter turnout. Central Committees are voted on by their constituents with the trust that they will represent them in the event a vacancy occurs. I will always be available to listen to the voter's input and concerns and vote for their choice.
My personal criteria in choosing a person to represent the constituents is based upon multiple factors, the number one being honesty and integrity. This person must be someone who is active in the community and be dedicated to the voters they will represent. Most importantly, I will reach out to the constituents and seek their inputs and recommendations.
My reason for serving on the Central Committee is to represent my community. My strengths are advocating and educating. I enjoy working with candidates, organizing fundraisers, helping with campaigns and especially mentoring young people. I encourage people to register to vote because every voice matters. For the last ten years I have helped organize Headquarters, engaged in door knocking and campaigned for multiple candidates. I feel that my experience will greatly benefit the community.
To ensure to the best of our ability in appointing a vacant position to the Central Committee we will place a notice on multiple sites advertising the available position. Once applications are received we as an organization will screen each applicant and then conduct an interview with each person. Our committee will be looking for someone who has leadership skills, strong integrity and a background working in their community.

Maryland law allows Central Committees to fill General Assembly vacancies with gubernatorial appointment, ensuring continuity and avoiding costly special elections. From my service on the Harford County Republican Central Committee, this process is efficient and responsible. Our appointees were strong candidates later elected by voters. I support maintaining this system and preserving voter choice in committee elections.
I will prioritize integrity, conservative values, and commitment to the legislative district. I will consider experience, community involvement, and readiness to serve immediately. Electability is also important to ensure voter confidence. My past experience with these decisions ensures a fair and thoughtful process focused on strong representation for Harford County.
I seek to strengthen and unify the Republican Party in Harford County. I will support local GOP clubs, Young Republicans, and Republican women’s groups while bringing candidates together after primaries. By encouraging collaboration, outreach, and events, I will grow our base and position our candidates for success in general elections.
I will use a transparent, merit based process focused on integrity, qualifications, and commitment to conservative principles. I will seek input from local leaders, review each candidate’s record of service, and prioritize strong community ties. I will also consider electability and the ability to earn voter confidence, ensuring appointees can succeed in the next election.

If there is a vacancy, Central Committee members send the name forward for the Governor to appoint. The process works well. A special election is very costly and time-consuming, leaving voters without representation.
I would look for Republican values. their ability to commit to and do the job, and the ability to work together. Would also look to be sure that they are not bought by special interests. Would also be sure they actually have ethics and integrity in their words and actions.
I want to serve on the Harford County Republican Central Committee because I am committed to growing our party and keeping Harford County a Republican County. I am willing to continue working with the Central Committee and the Republican Clubs, volunteer at many events, manage the election headquarters, and work with candidates. I enjoy communicating with voters and working to get people involved in our party and encourage them to vote. Voter registration is very important to growing our party.
A person's ethics, integrity, and Republican values are key, and I would look for evidence of them. I would verify their ability to commit to and do the job, ensure there are no conflicts, review their references, and social media to get an accurate picture of whether they will work together for the citizens they will represent. I would look at their community actions to ensure not bought by special interests, and that also shows how willing they are to work together with others
