1, Education: HCPS experienced several years of sustained underfunding. We have large class sizes, and services like general education summer school were cut in 2025.
2, Housing: I would like the County to invest in affordable housing initiatives to tackle homelessness and ease the financial burden on middle and low-income households.
3, Transportation: Expanded public transit networks reduce car pollution, support low-income and elderly residents, and connect our communities.
New developments should go through a public review process and should be required to invest in funding local infrastructure projects to accommodate additional vehicle traffic, sidewalks for pedestrians, and create public parks and green spaces that are important for our communities. Transparency and public participation are key. Development is going to happen, but the planning should not happen behind closed doors.
Many jobs are being lost to automation. This is especially true for entry-level positions and some office jobs. We should invest in job growth that can't be automated, like IT, healthcare, and logistics. We should partner with schools, unions, and employers to create training pipelines in high-demand fields. We should cut the red tape and allow small businesses to open more easily. Lastly, leaning on investments in housing and transportation will attract workers and businesses.
Most households are spending the largest share of their monthly income on housing. Making housing more affordable through rent stabilization and having more affordable housing options on the market will ease the pain families feel. People are hit hard with utility bills. Investing in green energy across the county could reduce our reliance on fossil fuels and how much we all pay to BGE. If our public transit were more reliable, people could save money on gas and expenses for their cars.
Introduce rent stabilization, encourage the formation of tenant unions, mandate inclusionary zoning policies, and invest in publicly-owned housing initiatives. The houses and apartments being built across the County are not cheap. They're not starter homes or low-cost apartments. These are $400-600K homes and $2000+/month luxury apartments. When we do build new developments, we need to incentivize and prioritize affordability.
I am a special education teacher who teaches social studies courses. I just completed graduate school and earned a Master of Public Policy degree. My thesis was on affordable housing. I love and cherish history. My family has lived in Aberdeen/Churchville since the 1700s.
Tax Stability: Holding the line on property taxes to keep more money in the pockets of hardworking families.
Public Safety: Fully funding our Sheriff’s Office and first responders to ensure our community remains safe.
Infrastructure: Prioritizing "needs" over "wants" by directing funds toward essential road and school maintenance.
We must live within our means, eliminate wasteful spending, and ensure every taxpayer dollar is used with maximum transparency.
I support make sure we have the Infrastructure First. No new major developments should proceed without the roads, schools, and utilities already in place to support them. I will fight to protect our rural heritage through Agricultural Preservation programs. we must direct growth to the existing "development envelope." We can not make policies decisions that will diminish the quality of life for our current residents.
Cutting red tape and we must streamlining the permitting process to help small businesses open and expand faster.
Workforce Alignment, partnering with vocational schools to ensure our residents are trained for high-demand local jobs.
Business-Friendly Culture, eliminating burdensome fees that discourage investment.
I will continue to work to identify and remove the government-imposed barriers that stifle our small businesses and job creators.
Affordability starts with Tax and fee relief. I will oppose property tax hikes, creation of new fees and support expanded credits for seniors and veterans to prevent them from leaving our community.
By promoting competitive bidding for county contracts and ensuring government efficiency, we can lower the overall cost of government and keep our county an affordable place for the next generation to plant their roots here in Harford County.
As someone who has made a career in this industry, I understand that private markets have far more to do with housing affordability than failed, government-generated programs. By empowering the private sector to develop diverse, attainable options, we can ensure our workforce and seniors can afford to stay in our county without the need for costly taxpayer-funded subsidies.
I bring a record of common-sense leadership and a deep commitment to our future. As your Councilwoman, I focus on being a responsive representative who listens to constituents and stands firm on conservative principles. I believe in limited government, personal responsibility, and protecting our unique quality of life. I am a small business owner and a dedicated advocate for our taxpayers. I’m asking for your vote to keep our county safe, prosperous, and the Harford County we love.
1. Avoid any tax increases on Harford County residents.
2. Fully fund all county obligations, including law enforcement and schools.
3. Prepare Harford County for the future by supporting a significant "rainy day fund" and disciplined plans for future county needs.
I pledge to vote based on the feedback from residents and the residents' best interest. I oppose any expansion of the development envelope. I oppose putting large apartment projects in District E or in any areas where it will impact negatively on the culture of our communities and the ability of residents to have a high quality of life. I will not vote based upon special interests.
The job of the county is to having an attractive business environment that is a level playing field for everyone. Harford County should be able to maintain a stable mix of jobs without providing handouts to developers or turning farmland into warehouses or large housing developments. The right environment to promote high quality jobs includes low regulation, an emphasis on education, and partnerships with existing employers.
The county must live within its budget and respect its residents. Increases in the county budget need to represent the best use of resources available. Having a low-tax and low-regulation environment and continuing to have excellent public safety and schools is my priority.
The job of a county is to support the needs of its residents. To that end, growth should be organic and reflect the actual needs of Harford County residents. In the past, District E residents have had almost zero input into affordable housing projects and large apartment developments, simply because the current councilperson is bought and paid for by special interests. I promise to meet with, listen to, and speak on behalf of District E residents.
I am a business owner and attorney who has negotiated for and represented thousands of Marylanders. I come from a family with generations of military service and grew up to have high expectations for myself and for others. I am looking to serve and make sure that the residents of District E are represented.
