My priorities are responsible spending, infrastructure-first planning, and a strong local economy. I support transparency and accountability to ensure efficient use of taxpayer dollars. Growth should align with infrastructure to avoid long-term costs. Encouraging sustainable economic development expands the tax base and supports fiscal stability without overburdening residents.
My approach is to balance preservation, responsible growth, and infrastructure planning. I support protecting prime farmland while respecting property rights. Development should be directed to appropriate areas near existing infrastructure, not rural communities. Roads, schools, water, and public safety services should be in place before major development is approved to avoid long-term costs and strain on residents.
The County can encourage economic growth by streamlining permitting, supporting small businesses, and aligning infrastructure with development.

I support improving approval timelines to reduce delays, creating a more predictable environment for businesses, and investing in infrastructure that supports job growth. I would work with local businesses and stakeholders to identify barriers and implement practical solutions.
I will focus on controlling costs, supporting local jobs, and planning growth responsibly. That means maintaining fiscal discipline to limit tax increases, streamlining regulations to reduce costs for businesses and residents, and ensuring development aligns with infrastructure to avoid costly overburdening of services. A strong local economy helps keep Harford County affordable.
I support a balanced approach to workforce housing that aligns with infrastructure and community needs. This includes encouraging development in appropriate areas, streamlining approval processes to reduce costs, and supporting a mix of housing options. Workforce housing should be planned near jobs, transportation, and services to ensure it is both accessible and sustainable.
I bring private-sector leadership experience managing teams, budgets, and operations across multiple states, with a focus on accountability and results. I have also served on a planning commission, giving me firsthand experience with land use, development, and local decision-making. Having lived in several parts of Harford County, I understand the diverse needs of its communities and am committed to practical, collaborative leadership.

Education - full funding of public schools Environment - green space and energy-efficiency initiatives Affordability - well-paying jobs and affordable housing
I will support ensuring better community awareness and input to proposed new development, adhering to building within the established envelope. I will work to ensure the county's zoning code clarifies terms used for structures such as mega-warehouses and transit centers, and that the master plan restrict such enormous structures. I strongly support the continuation of agricultural and forest preservation programs to maintain a green Harford.
We can offer tax incentives for businesses that bring well-paying jobs into Harford, partner with APG more robustly to attract more science and engineering jobs (government and contractor) to the area, and create a real trades program in partnership with local businesses and Harford Community College to begin filling the gap in skilled tradespeople. HCC's workforce training program should be widely advertised in the public schools and supported by local government.
We need to hear from residents what their biggest affordability issues are and work to improve where we can locally. New construction, particularly apartments, need to be not all "high-end," so developers willing to build affordable units should be given incentives, particularly in vacant areas with infrastructure already in place. Our local government should also help residents learn about and obtain existing financial assistance from the state to make their homes more energy-efficient.
Developers should be incentivized through tax breaks to construct affordable housing so that young people can stay in the county. I also would like local government to revisit the detached dwelling proposal so that elderly and young relatives can live on the same property as other family members, as long as zoning requirements are met, without having to share a home.
I spent over 30 years in public service, primarily at APG, and have taught writing part time at HCC just as long. I know how to team, and I like to solve problems: to that end, I founded Shadow Cats TNR, now in its 11th year, to help reduce the community cat population and assist the people caring for them. I also do road cleanup and tree planting when I can. I may not be the most knowledgeable person in a room, but I will continue to work hard for Harford's future.
