My career in law enforcement has allowed me to serve in several roles focused on public safety and building trust. I have experience in private-sector compliance and policy auditing, strengthening my understanding of accountability and best practices. With degrees in Criminal Justice and Social Work, I bring a balanced perspective focused on serving the diverse communities of Dorchester County.
My priorities for the office include transparent leadership that builds community trust while maintaining a strong focus on public safety. Collaboration with community partners will be essential to strengthening Dorchester County communities. I am committed to supporting our department through creative recruitment and retention efforts, while also expanding community engagement and education.
Building strong relationships with residents is essential to improving public safety. I believe in creating more opportunities for in-person communication and outreach. By strengthening connections with our schools, businesses, and neighborhoods, we can work together to stay proactive. An informed and engaged community is one of the strongest partnerships in keeping Dorchester County safe.
Treating every person with fairness and respect must always be a priority in law enforcement. Continued education and meaningful training help deputies better understand the diverse needs of Dorchester County communities and ensure every resident is treated with fairness and accountability.
Effective drug prevention requires a balanced approach. While enforcement remains important to disrupt illegal activity, prevention efforts such as diversion programs, community-oriented policing, and early education for youth help address problems before they grow. Working collaboratively across our communities is key to promoting long-term safety and healthier outcomes.

I served 33 years with the Cambridge Police Department, including my final five years as Chief of Police. During that time, I led officers, managed budgets, and addressed public safety challenges. I am also a graduate of the FBI National Academy. That experience prepared me to lead the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office with professionalism, accountability, and strong leadership.
My priorities are strengthening public safety, supporting our deputies, and improving community partnerships. I will focus on proactive crime prevention, strong recruitment and retention, and ensuring deputies have the training and tools they need. I also want to prioritize school safety and modernize our 911 communications center so first responders can respond quickly and effectively.
Public safety works best when the community and law enforcement work together. As Sheriff, I want both myself and our deputies visible and engaged throughout Dorchester County. By attending community events, meeting with residents, businesses, farmers, and watermen, and listening to concerns, we can strengthen trust and work together to prevent crime.
Everyone deserves to be treated with respect and fairness. As Sheriff, I will set clear expectations that deputies act professionally and treat all citizens equally under the law. Through leadership, training, and accountability, we will ensure the Sheriff’s Office reflects the values of fairness, integrity, and respect for every member of our community.
Drug addiction continues to impact families across Dorchester County. Law enforcement must target dealers and those bringing drugs into our community, while also supporting solutions that help people recover. As Sheriff, I would support rehabilitation programs and partnerships with treatment providers so those struggling with addiction have a path to recovery while keeping our community safe.
