I am seeking a full term on the Board of Education to ensure resources and policies are in place for all students to have access to a quality education. My background in data analysis complements my perspective as a parent, mentor, and reading coach, helping me make rational decisions based on facts and explain complex information in an understandable manner. I believe Board members should be able to clearly articulate what they are voting for and why, and I will continue to do so.
Parents are crucial to their child’s success. I encourage parents to engage in their child’s learning and build rapport with schools. Teachers teach and other employees, up to the Superintendent, support the classroom teacher. Board members oversee the Superintendent’s execution of school operations and approve the budget. I share Board meeting summaries on Facebook for transparency. Concerns should be heard respectfully and addressed through established policies to ensure fair resolutions.
When I ask teachers what will make them more effective, they answer with smaller class sizes, more special educators, counselors, therapists, and building administrators. Resource constraints and statutory program funding requirements mean CCPS must make difficult decisions when balancing staffing, supplies, and contracted services. I believe that people are a school’s greatest assets and they are my highest priority to support.
Technology is a powerful educational tool, but it can also be a distraction. Students need basic computing skills and technological understanding to succeed in today’s workforce, so schools should use technology to support learning while helping students understand its limits. Our middle schools are now in the third semester of a no cell phone policy for students. Teachers have observed significant improvements in student attention since implementation, and I support that policy.

My wife is a high school teacher with CCPS and I have two girls entering the school system in a few years. I have worked with CCPS for the last 15 years in two capacities: School Resource Officer for 11 years and School Safety Officer for the last 4. I have seen the challenges, triumphs, and incredible people who make our schools what they are. Changes cannot be made from the couch. I bring a unique, outside perspective to decisions that will impact the largest stakeholder, our students.
Parents are there to advocate for their children. Teachers are there to do exactly that, teach. Teachers have the opportunity to show student's all perspectives and give them tools to make decisions, without bias. This is the next generation entering the workforce and need the ability to think critically and problem solve. Board members are there to do what is in the best interest of the students. That is my philosophy for resolving disputes. For transparency, I am an open book, ask away!
I’ll strengthen recruitment and retention by expanding partnerships with universities, streamlining hiring, and promoting competitive, transparent compensation. I’ll support staff with mentoring, professional development, and a positive workplace culture that values their expertise and keeps great educators in our schools.
I support using technology to enhance learning, expand access, and build digital literacy, while ensuring it never replaces strong teaching. Personal devices should be limited during class to reduce distraction, with clear, consistent rules that still allow responsible use for learning when appropriate.
