I am an 18 year veteran of the CCSO, currently serving as the Sgt. of the School Resource Unit. I began my career in patrol and in 2012 became an investigator for the Crimes Against Children Unit. Upon promotion to Corporal, I briefly led the Civil Unit, before returning to Criminal Investigations as a supervisor. In 2014, I moved to the SRU, and was promoted to the rank of sergeant in 2015. I am a 2018 graduate of the New Jersey Association for Chiefs of Police Command and Leadership Academy.
The biggest challenge the sheriff’s office currently faces is one of culture. My administration will work to strengthen communication and trust between administration and deputies. I am committed to fostering a culture of professionalism, openness, and ethical leadership.
My law enforcement philosophy is rooted in community policing. Developing opportunities for our deputies to be engaged in the neighborhoods they serve will be a priority for my administration. We will also expand our School Safety Programs: collaborating with schools for threat assessments, safety drills, and having SROs (School Resource Officers) where appropriate.
Three of my top priorities for improving and maintaining public safety are:
1) Data-Driven Policing: Maintain the use of crime data and analytics to identify trends and deploy resources effectively.
2) Increase Number of Deputies: Multi year plan to increase the number of CCSO deputies to meet growth projections and to ensure proactive policing patrols can meet and exceed current levels.
3) Visible Patrol Presence: Expand neighborhood patrols to deter crime and build community relationships.

Have served in Law Enforcement and Corrections for over 35 plus years. Have attained the rank of Sergeant with two departments which is a supervisory role. Have worked every assignment in Criminal Patrol and Criminal Investigations for both agencies. Have supervised and overseen numerous projects. Also been influential in developing budgets, policy, and training for both agencies.
The biggest challenge is the lack of directional leadership. By adhering to our mission of providing professional law enforcement services to the citizens of Cecil County, we will lead with transparency, set clear expectations, and ensure accountability at every level of the Sheriff's Office.
Increasing the community resource Unit. Enhancing current community outreach programs. Creating and establishing a youth program that includes involvement in different community projects, i.e.: sports activities, boys and girls club, junior deputy program, hunter safety and youth education courses including boater safety. Holding a quarterly information exchange with the community in various locations throughout Cecil County. Promote a Deputy Mentoring Program.
Reallocation of positions within the agency that fulfills law enforcement obligations and maximizes budgetary restraints.
Enhancing the recruitment of both entry level and certified law enforcement professionals while prioritizing retention of current employees. Strengthen community policing and establish law enforcement sub-stations throughout the county to improve response times and increase visibility while ensuring the community receives the coverage and protection it deserves.
