Lower the cost of living for residents: Rising housing & utility costs are a major problem. Policies that keep the county affordable help retain working families.
Ensure Corporations pay their fair share: Ensuring businesses contribute fairly helps fund services without raising residential taxes
Invest in water infrastructure and walkable communities: Water systems and pedestrian safety are both public health and economic development issues, affecting tourism and environmental sustainability.
I support protecting farmlands and open space while directing new development to underused and abandoned properties before expanding into rural areas. Responsible growth should prioritize redevelopment over sprawl. I will require developers to contribute to roads, schools, water, sewer, and pedestrian infrastructure so growth strengthens communities without burdening taxpayers.
Tie incentives to fair wages and local hiring: Require companies coming into the county to pay livable wages and prioritize hiring local workers
Hold Corporations accountable: Use performance agreements and clawbacks so companies that don't meet wage, job, or local investment promises to lose incentives
Invest in local businesses: Expand grants, loans, and training programs to help local entrepreneurs and small businesses grow and create community-based jobs.
I will make living in Cecil County more affordable by expanding programs for first-time homebuyers, promoting affordable rental and mixed-income housing, improving public transit and bike routes to cut transportation costs, and supporting local markets, energy efficiency programs and lower fees for small businesses-- helping families keep more of their income while strengthening our community.
I will ensure rentals in Cecil County are affordable by offering incentives to landlords who keep rents aligned with local wages. Revenue and support programs to help rehab vacant homes and fund workforce housing. I will encourage developers to provide affordable options, expand first-time homebuyer and rental programs, and monitor housing availability to make sure residents have access to safe, reasonable prices homes.
I am in service to the people and the community of Cecil County. As a caregiver, I understand the challenges families face. I actively support the arts and local initiatives, and my work is guided by compassion, ensuring every decision prioritizes residents and strengthens our community.
