DUTIES: The Sheriff s Office is a full-function law enforcement agency which operates throughout the county. Public safety activities include law enforcement and all related activities to support investigations of either a traffic or criminal nature, including accident investigation, monitoring sex offenders, traffic safety programs, narcotics investigations, protective measures for domestic violence, and the investigation of all serious or reported crimes. Its civil component acts as an officer of the circuit court, carrying out court orders, including evictions; delivering summonses; and executing bench warrants. It also provides management of and security for courthouse operations.BASE SALARY: $116,563TERM: Four years, no term limit.HOW ELECTED: Elected county-wide.
