In this first term, we have been able to get county initiatives passed in Annapolis, such as more freedom in the spending of our park allocation funds and protecting residents from food processing waste disposal. The connections I have made have been instrumental in obtaining these goals. I know the budget well and always vote to spend conservatively.
I will continue to lobby for the removal of regulations that increase the cost of housing. I want to preserve the rural heritage of the county; therefore, I am not a proponent of additional large-scale development. Growth should focus on the redevelopment of dilapidated properties and infill of developed areas. Development should be targeted at bringing in more services.
A well-educated and capable workforce is imperative for business attraction, tax base growth and quality of life. I will continue to advise our educational institutions about the needs of businesses, residents, and the county. The county should continue to reduce restrictions on properties, when appropriate, and return property rights to landowners.
Due to recent litigation, funding is available for drug abuse reduction. I am dedicated to using those funds effectively. I will advocate for education on drug abuse prevention and promote services to help residents recover from addiction. The county should continue to support law enforcement endeavors to remove drugs from our community.
Recent property assessment increases have burdened property owners; I will continue to search for ways to reduce the tax rates in the county. We have made large investments in our roads and bridges, and I will continue to improve our road system. I would like to use my experience to ensure that facility improvements are completed responsibly.

My experience in business, nonprofit leadership, and community service has prepared me to serve as Caroline County Commissioner. Through my involvement with the Queen Anne’s County Chamber of Commerce, Chesapeake College Foundation, Mid-Shore Community Foundation, and Maryland Association of Chamber Executives, I’ve gained experience in budgeting, planning, and collaboration. I am committed to responsible growth, strong schools, workforce development, and fiscal responsibility.
The county can increase affordable housing by reviewing zoning and permitting to support responsible workforce and senior housing. Partnering with nonprofits and state programs can help bring funding for projects. Encouraging renovation of existing properties and mixed-use development can also expand housing options while protecting the rural character of our communities and supporting young families, seniors, and the local workforce.
As Commissioner, I would encourage development and job growth by supporting small businesses, attracting new industries, and investing in infrastructure that connects communities. I will partner with schools and workforce programs to prepare residents for local jobs and offer incentives for responsible business growth while preserving Caroline County’s rural character, creating opportunities at all economic levels for families and workers.
I would support school-based education programs, accessible treatment and recovery services, and community outreach to address drug abuse, recognizing that addiction affects all ages and walks of life. Having served on a local Drug-Free Coalition for over 15 years, I would also partner with law enforcement to reduce illegal drugs and support resources for individuals and families affected by substance abuse.
As Commissioner, my top priorities are responsible growth that balances residential and commercial tax bases while supporting farmers, strengthening education and workforce development to prepare students and residents for local careers, and promoting public safety and community health by supporting law enforcement, addressing drug abuse, and ensuring safe, healthy communities. These focus areas create opportunity, sustainability, and quality of life for all.
I have served Caroline County for over 13 years on as many as 4 differnt boards and still serve on 3 boards at this time. Which as allowed me to know some of the things going on with in the County.
I do belive that we need more affordable housing. With that being said at this time I do not have a answer for this question but if elected I will look to see what the best way to go about making this more of a priarity in the future
I belive that current state regulations and tax policies will make it hard to draw in most new business but I hope to try to bring in more new business to the County
I belive the County has policies in place that are trying to help with drug abuse.
Economic development, housing and and continued support of are educators amd all of our first resoponders
I have served as a Caroline County Commissioner for 15 years. I have successfully balanced budgets, negotiated agreements with Health Care Agencies and served during construction of a new elementary school, DES Building, and Sheriff’s Department building.
We should work toward minimizing regulatory roadblocks and offer incentives for development. In private life, I served as President of a Real Estate Development and Management company. We developed numerous affordable housing complexes on the Eastern Shore and Delaware.
Workforce training and building trades are crucial to developing the need for job growth. Companies will locate in the county if a trained employment base is available.
We need to continue to invest in Behavioral Health and addiction services. Counseling in elementary schools is crucial. Any method available to teach children the dangers of drug addiction must be on the table.
Continued financial transparency and budgeting practices.
Continued improvement of health care access and services. As only one of two counties in the state WITHOUT a hospital, our emergency services must continue to funded and adequately supported.
Continued investment in County infrastructure. We are a rural county, roads bridges, and drainage improvement and maintenance are vital to our economy.
