DUTIES: The Republican Central Committee is responsible for leading and organizing the day-to-day operations of the local Republican Party. The Committee recommends candidates to the Governor to fill vacancies in state and local offices when a member of the party resigns or dies in office. County Central Committees work with the State Central Committee, which in turn works with the national party.TERM: Four years, no term limit.SALARY: None.HOW ELECTED: Republican Central Committee members are elected by registered party members. Election is by councilmanic district.

No. I think the party CC should appoint. the person is probably well known to the CC and should have its approval. Also to open another election process is costly, usually unnecessary and can be contentious.
The candidate must have a working knowledge of the workings of the General Assembly, its rules, customs and procedures. The candidate should reflect the ideas and ideals of the party appointing him as well as the person whom he/she is replacing. The candidate must be willing to be a positive force in shaping policy when possible and supporting his fellow colleagues when they require his help. Lastly, he/she must have a history of political participation outside of the General Assembly.

I am confident in my ability to judge different schools of thought in and out of election season as well as during election time. I am knowledgeable about local politics and about local community concerns. I have served on my community association board and are aware of and will consider their concerns and projects.
