I’m a Pikesville High School and Johns Hopkins graduate who served in the NYPD’s Counterterrorism Bureau. After returning to Maryland for law school, I prosecuted cases in Baltimore City and served as Chief of Staff to the Chair of the Judicial Proceedings Committee. Today I fight corruption and police misconduct across Maryland. My background in law enforcement, prosecution, budgeting, and management has prepared me to lead and deliver as State’s Attorney.
My priority is building a safer Baltimore County with a State’s Attorney’s Office focused on accountability, transparency, and results. I will modernize the office by tracking and publishing crime data and directing resources toward serious offenses like violent crime, elder abuse, and sexual assault. I will also ensure victims receive respect, support, and meaningful resources throughout the justice process.
My office will treat juvenile justice with the seriousness it deserves. I will staff the Juvenile Division with experienced prosecutors—not make it a training ground for new attorneys. We will track outcomes and programs to measure what works. My goal is a system that improves public safety by holding young offenders accountable while supporting rehabilitation and reducing repeat offenses.
Alternatives to prison are essential for non-violent offenders struggling with addiction, mental health, or other challenges. Effective diversion programs connect people with treatment and support while allowing prosecutors to focus on violent crime. Baltimore County should be a leader in these programs. I will expand diversion options, track outcomes, and publish data to ensure these approaches successfully improve public safety.
Baltimore County is ready for a new approach to prosecution without compromising public safety with inexperience.
I bring proven experience and successful innovation. I have prosecuted thousands of cases, including the most violent, complex felonies. I bring a decade of successful management experience in the largest prosecution agency in MD.
I am a nationally recognized subject matter expert in prosecution. Fair and tough, I will always put victims and community first.
1) Reduce juvenile crime
2) Strengthen post-trial prosecution to fight repeat violent offenders
3) Improve technology and data management
The criminal justice system for adults and juveniles must be fair and equitable. The juvenile justice system prioritizes rehabilitation and the SAO should work within that construct. However, this does not mean we should forgo accountability. Forgoing accountability creates unfair outcomes for victims and our community while putting us all at risk. No one is entitled to commit crimes. Juveniles who choose to commit crime must be held accountable.
Prison is a last resort. I fully support interventions to redirect individuals out of the system. I support problem solving courts, alternative sentencing, probation programming and any other mechanism when appropriate. Those who insist on repeatedly committing violent crimes against our communities have earned prison time. Accountability is non-negotiable.

I have been the Baltimore County State’s Attorney for 19 years. I believe my knowledge and experience in running this office makes me uniquely qualified to continue as the State’s Attorney. I spent 8 years as a Line Prosecutor in this office, specializing in murder, sex offense and child abuse cases.
I oversee 65 attorneys and another 80 plus staff. That is not an easy job. I come with experience matched by no others. As State’s Attorney, I hope to continue to keep the citizens safe.
To prosecute violent crimes while running a respectful and professional office. If a violent criminal is in jail, they will not hurt another Baltimore County citizen.
To ensure my prosecutors always do the right and ethical thing to ensure fairness to both the victims and the accused. To supply proper discovery and information to defense counsel.
To request the Department of Juvenile Services to provide more extensive assistance to juvenile offenders so they do not advance to violent crimes.
Maryland’s current system is appropriate for age requirements of charging as adults. Most of those juveniles who are charged as adults have the ability to request and prove they can be transferred back to Juvenile Court. This is decided by an independent Judge. If an independent Judge decides you should be treated as an adult, then that is fair. 15-year old Nicholas Browning, who killed 4 family members, other than as an adult? Even he had a transfer hearing denied by a Judge.
My office offers Alternative Sentencing particularly in minor crimes. We support and participate in The Mental Health docket and Drug Court. There is an underage drinking problem in Towson and we offer to dismiss the case once community service is done.
