My experience organizing in our communities, working with local leaders, and advocating for working families has prepared me to serve on the County Council. I’ve built the skills to listen, bring people together, and turn community priorities into real policy solutions. I’m ready to lead and deliver results for our neighbors.
Affordability is the most pressing issue facing our county. The rising cost of housing, groceries, and everyday essentials is making it harder for working families to get ahead. We must expand housing supply, support good paying jobs, and ensure our communities remain places where people can afford to live, work, and raise a family
A balanced county budget should focus on growing our tax base by attracting new residents and supporting smart housing growth. By bringing more people to live, work, and invest in our communities, we can increase revenue without overburdening current residents. We also need to prioritize education, public safety, and infrastructure.
By building more housing near transit, job centers, and existing infrastructure, we can increase affordability and expand fair housing opportunities while protecting our green spaces. My focus is on thoughtful planning that welcomes new residents, keeps housing attainable for working families, and preserves our natural spaces.
By supporting small businesses, expanding housing near job centers, and streamlining permitting, we can grow our tax base, create jobs with living wages, and ensure our county remains a place where businesses and families want to invest.
I would prioritize repairs to roads, water systems, and public facilities, while upgrading them to be more energy efficient and sustainable. By coordinating infrastructure improvements with smart housing and economic development, we can strengthen our communities and ensure our county is prepared for the future.
I have been a county resident the majority of my life and likewise I have worked in government at all levels most of my career. I earned a BA from University of Baltimore, attended CCBC previously and was a member of the Pennsylvania Student Bar subsequently. I served as President of Graystone Community Association from 2012 until 2014. I have served on the Central Committee representing this district over 6 years now, was the nominee for District 2 in 2022, and am well prepared for this office.
Stopping the proposed Woodlawn data center. Central Woodlawn is no place for such a facility.
Getting crime under control and giving our Police the resources and support they need to keep us safe.
Attracting business back to this district and saving Security Square Mall.
By getting back to the core functions of county government and eliminating unnecessary programs and duplicative functions that the State and Federal governments have responsibility for. The school budget is the largest recipient of county tax dollars and needs more scrutiny, and I support legislation giving the Inspector General oversight of BCPS.
Neighborspace is a very important program in Baltimore County, and I would do everything I can to support it. Housing discrimination is illegal and fair housing law must be enforced. However, new PUD's need more scrutiny, and adequate infrastructure must be in place. Finally, affordability is a serious issue that requires more cooperation with the State and Federal governments.
By tax incentives.
Eliminating burdensome and unnecessary regulation.
Importantly, getting crime under control.
Redirecting funds to Public Works. The widening of Reisterstown Road needs to be finally addressed. Additionally, Baltimore City needs to replace the Warren Road bridge, the county should be willing to help with funding within reason. Finally, the earthen part of Lake Roland dam must be reenforced so that a repeat of the near tragedy during Hurricane Agnes never occurs again.

As a mother, nurse, and educator, I bring experiences that uniquely equips me to address the needs of families in District 2. My professional record demonstrates a proven commitment to health and workers' rights, aligning with the Council's duty to protect residents and services. That combination of front-line experience, leadership, and coalition work has prepared me to do the work of the Council: budgets, setting priorities, and delivering responsive, effective service to District 2.
The most pressing issue facing Baltimore County now and in the future is affordability, safety and education. Housing, healthcare, and daily costs push families into choices. Most families live paycheck to paycheck. They face rising rent, prescription price gouging, and utility bills that take more than they can afford. Furloughs, unstable health benefits, and grocery inflation are not going away.
To keep Baltimore County's budget balanced, my priorities would focus on public safety, education, affordable housing, community reinvestment, and healthcare access. These reflect the daily realities of District 2 families who are living paycheck to paycheck and need the government to deliver results without waste. My experience managing budgets and leading large community health campaigns gives the tools to deliver.
To balance fair and affordability housing, and green space preservation, I would prioritize workforce housing near transit corridors and job centers while enforcing the Urban Rural Demarcation Line to protect Baltimore County's green legacy. Green space preservation is non-negotiable. These areas help with flood control, mental health, and quality of life.
To encourage economic development and job growth, Baltimore County government should focus on practical incentives, smart zoning, and workforce partnerships that keep good jobs local and bring new ones. I would review zoning, build workforce pipelines and foster community economic justice. My experience leading coalitions and managing budgets equips me to deliver growth that lifts working families.
To address Baltimore County's aging infrastructure, I would support policies that prioritize repairs, smart investments, and community input to ensure taxpayer dollars deliver results; such as addressing roads, water, sewage, and stormwater system. Last, residents voiced redistricting concerns that were ignored. True progress requires collaboration. I would create an Infrastructure Advisory Board which would also include the community.

As a retired educator with more than 30 years in Maryland public schools, I dedicated my career to serving families and strengthening our community. I served as a teacher, assistant principal, alternative school principal, and Superintendent’s Designee, making policy decisions affecting students and families. I also founded the Caring for Young Minds Foundation over 25 years ago to expand college opportunities. I’m prepared to bring proven leadership and real results to the County Council.
Baltimore County faces pressing challenges with public safety, youth opportunity, and strong schools. Safe communities start with prevention. When education budgets fall short, class sizes grow, classroom support declines, and teachers are stretched too thin to give students the attention they deserve. By investing in safe neighborhoods and strong schools, we strengthen families and build a safer, stronger future for Baltimore County.
A balanced county budget must prioritize strong schools, safe communities, and economic opportunity. That means investing in education, ensuring police and first responders have the resources they need to keep neighborhoods safe, and supporting job growth that strengthens our local economy. By focusing on core services and responsible spending, we can protect taxpayers while building a stronger future for Baltimore County.
Baltimore County must balance housing affordability, fair housing, and preservation of green space through smart growth and thoughtful planning. We should expand housing opportunities for different income levels and family sizes while ensuring fair access for all residents. By encouraging redevelopment in appropriate areas, protecting parks and healthy open spaces, and strengthening existing communities, we can maintain property values and ensure growth enhances—not overwhelms—our neighborhoods.
Baltimore County can encourage economic development and job growth by supporting small businesses, attracting new employers, and investing in workforce development. As a longtime educator, I believe preparing residents for in-demand careers through partnerships with schools, community colleges, and job training programs is essential. The county should also streamline permitting and use targeted tax incentives tied to job creation to help businesses grow and strengthen our local economy.
Baltimore County must address aging infrastructure by investing in roads, bridges, water and sewer systems, schools, and public facilities while strengthening digital infrastructure. Reliable high-speed internet and a modern electrical grid are essential for residents and businesses. Through a strong capital improvement plan, preventative maintenance, and partnerships that leverage state and federal funding, we can modernize infrastructure, improve flood resilience, and support economic growth.
