I bring a lifetime of business experience, service & community advocacy to our district. I’ve fought for sound environmental policy, social justice, equitable land-use & government transparency exposing corruption that passed reforms. As a certified project manager, I know how to manage complex projects that deliver
results and improve constituent services. I’m publicly financed & refuse to accept funding from PACs, corporations, developers & other special interests. I put people over profit.
The biggest challenge is our pay-to-play culture where big-money funds our leaders who do special favors that privatizes profit from sprawl development but socializes future costs onto the public. It’s caused neglect, stranding us with crumbling infrastructure & underfunded services. It’s the root cause of the affordability crisis, disinvestment in marginalized communities, struggling schools, educational performance gaps, dangerous streets, potholes, water main breaks and rising property taxes.
We’re struggling to fund my top priorities: education, public safety, walkability, road repair, recreation, environmental protection & senior services. To sustainably fund services, without constant tax increases, WE MUST REJECT abusive “pay to play” growth patterns & transition toward community-led Smart Growth strategies that align resources to redevelop on past infrastructure investments, places like Route 40, to create a new efficient tax base that limits new infrastructure liabilities.
The housing crisis requires smart development. Public financing means I won’t rubber-stamp projects that destroy open space & fail to provide real community benefits. With strong community engagement & negotiated public benefits, I’ll turn struggling areas into vibrant, walkable, mixed-income communities that improve affordability, protect open space & reduce car dependence. I’ll also support resident-created housing options that preserves historic character & guards against corporate landlords.
Job creation must be multi-faceted. Fostering redevelopment expands a walkable customer base, lifts community confidence to attract new businesses & supports construction jobs. Creating stronger ties to UMBC & hospitals supports hi-tech, higher ed & healthcare jobs. Nurturing our Arts District & Patapsco Heritage Area grows service, hospitality, environmental & cultural jobs. Collectively, this diversified economic approach will enhance & sustain jobs in education, public safety & public works.
Our broken “pay-to-play” system has led to crumbling infrastructure, an affordability issue that hits working families from costly car repairs due to potholes. Public financing means standing up and insisting on real benefits from development, not the 0.1% of repair costs we get from current development impact fees. I’ll promote better resource management: coordinate repairs, insist streets are safer & flood-resilient, hold BGE accountable after upgrades, & protect/enhance green infrastructure.

Growing up in District 1 and serving our residents at the local, state, and federal levels has prepared me to effectively represent our community. In my role as Director of Community Engagement in the Baltimore County Executive’s Office, I connected residents to services, advanced infrastructure improvements, supported local organizations and businesses, and built a responsive constituent services office grounded in listening, problem-solving, and delivering results for our neighborhoods.
We know many families are feeling the impact of rising costs and the need for more housing options. By expanding housing opportunities and encouraging thoughtful growth, we can help neighbors live close to where they work and keep more of what they earn in their pockets. To start, we can revitalize vacant properties, support local small businesses, listen to residents’ needs, connect people with helpful community resources, and create new opportunities that strengthen Baltimore County.
A balanced county budget must prioritize public safety, strong schools, reliable infrastructure, and responsive services, while ensuring fair wages. We must practice responsible spending, transparency, and accountability. Through my experience overseeing Baltimore County’s Budget Town Hall process, I understand the value of public input in aligning funding with community priorities and delivering results for residents.
We can balance housing needs and preserve green space by encouraging thoughtful, responsible growth that expands accessible housing options while protecting parks, tree cover, and environmentally sensitive land. As council representative for district 1, I will prioritize revitalizing already vacant properties, supporting small businesses and commercial corridors, and engaging residents early to strengthen neighborhoods without overdevelopment to preserve community character and quality of life.
We can strengthen economic growth by expanding workforce training access, supporting small businesses, reducing unnecessary barriers, and partnering with local schools and employers to align education with job opportunities. As councilwoman, I will establish an in-district Workforce Roundtable to bring together businesses, labor unions, and educators to stay ahead of workforce needs. By fostering collaboration, we can build a stronger, more vibrant local economy for all.
To address aging infrastructure, I will support strategic capital planning that prioritizes long-term maintenance, equitable investment, and modernization of roads, schools, trails, and community facilities. I will advocate for reviewing underinvested areas, improving basic services, and funding visible quality-of-life upgrades like safer crosswalks, trees, parks, and bike lanes to build a safer, stronger Baltimore County for the future.

My greatest qualification is a genuine, lived-in commitment to my neighbors rather than a political machine. By stepping up to "be the change," I offer voters an uncommon level of authentic accountability and a focus on practical solutions over partisan posturing. My firsthand experience with how local policy impacts daily life provides the clarity and urgency needed to prioritize community well-being above all else.
Now - The Budget - The council will be faced with approving a fiscal 2027 budget at a time when Teacher, Fire and Police contracts will be negotiated. All at a time when the State will face significant revenue shortfalls. From a revenue standpoint Baltimore County will be facing challenging times immediately.
Furture
Labor contracts that honor the dignity of our County employees.
Our residents deserve decent. affordable housing - Let’s make it harder to be a bad landlord in Baltimore County.
Stricter rental licensing enforcement
Media campaign on the rights of renters
Require multi-unit landlords to provide renters with their rights; how to file complaints; County resources annually.
Prompt inspections in response to renters/community complaints
Require a affordable housing opportunities with future residential developments
One approach is by incentivizing small business. – Too often the focus has been on Corporate Enterprise when small businesses are at the heart of our communities contributing to our quality of life and social cohesion.
Low interest loans for start-up, stabilization or expansion
Require county agencies to procure from county small businesses when practical to do so.
Improve infrastructure (public rights; way/drainage) around small businesses
Use data to track the age and repair history of water mains and road surfaces. This allows the county to replace a pipe before it bursts, which is significantly cheaper than an emergency repair.
Support a "Mobile First" approach where residents can upload photos of infrastructure issues (like broken streetlights or clogged storm drains) directly into a tracking system that provides the resident with real-time status updates on the fix.
Quality fixes over cheap fixes. Equal long term savings.
